Uh oh, war tag, RPG tag, strategy tag. Oh thank God! No multiplayer tag. It's not another money sucking pseudogame that limits how much you can play unless you pay.

This game already impressed me before I even hit play: each of the "Best Comments" has a pleasing Dev response, and it's clear from the go a lot of love's gone into this game. The campaign intro's pretty funny, but then the real fun starts... 5/5. I love it.
Than you! We are really made this game with love, hard work and a lot of time. We are closer to you then you think, we are not corporation that makes a game every day. We just like to play games too. And learn to code or paint can everyone. We just enjoyed making it, and we are very happy that you like this game.

Reminded me of the Total War series, this was a very enjoyable game and I was sad when it was over. A couple of suggestions: 1. A longer campaign, I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't get all of my units to the maximum level. 2. Larger deploying areas on the later maps at least. 3. A sequel or and extra campaign where you could play as the various creatures that you fight mabye? and 4. Have you considered adding different terrains with various bonuses or penalties? For example, high ground which would give archers and catapults extended range or give infantry and cavalry bonus damage if they charge down hill, possibly even muddy ground which would slow movement and give a penalty to defense? Just a few ideas, good luck, I hope to see more game like this from you.
Thank you for you suggestions! They are all cool and we decided to add them all in a sequel: big maps, more units, several campaigns for different forces, terrains, mages, spells, better mechanics and tonn of other cool stuff. Enjoy this game and be ready for new one! ;-)

Great game. Only issue I've had so far is that the squad gets confused as to where to go when there is a large enough obstacle in the way. The water fountain in the pier level for one. Not a huge issue as you can direct them around it but it still would be nice if the squad went around on their own.
We had to sacrifice true pathfidind because we need more performance. But we will find solution how can we add good pathfiding to this hordes of units :-)

This is much fun playing, but still i have 2 sugestions: First i have 2 infantery squads with different equipmant-quality, but i cant see the difference between them during the fight. Second, time-freaze button would be nice, to coordinate troop movement, especialy when there are many scuads.
Thanks allot for that great game
Thanks for reply. For now you can use keyboard keys 1-8 if you wan to select specific squad. But I noted it and I think we will make different icons in the patch (added in UPDATE VERSION 1.4). We will think about time freeze, but I cannot promise anything with this.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit, although there are a few things I'd like to point out. #1 the game is very very easy, I'm not a great game player or anything, but I beat it with ease.
#2 the campaign is extremely short, completion is attainable under 2 hours. #3 As I have before stated, I did enjoy the game quite a bit, however I would enjoy it much more if you would give more choices/options to the player. Example: being able to play as another character such as the undead/necromancers, trolls/orcs, etc, etc.
One last thing and my suggestions are over. #4 I don't know what the enemy troops are, I would suggest adding a mouse-over feature in battle which tells the player what type of enemy troops are being sent at him. (and maybe even tell him how his own troops are doing) This feature would be most enjoyable (or whatever).
Hope I've been of some help.

For survival mode, get fully upgraded cavalry and catapults, then all remaining squads. Move everything to the lower left corner (were most enemies spawn) and try to keep both archers and catapults in the center of your troops, using the cavalry's speed and might to finish off stray enemies (but don't let them get too far from your "circle"). You should get around 800+ gold easily.

Wow, devs of this game actually listen to their players, unlike so many developers these days. 5 stars just for that, but the game was fun too

Since I can't get all my squads to max level, maybe having experience for replaying older missions, or better yet, have a set of challenge or a single randomized mission that still gives out experience. It's awful satisfying to see a massive army, and you wouldn't want to deprive the players of that, would you?

Bah... Liches being able to effectively attack through whole map are really a nuisance in survival... there's no way to take them out without suffering heavy loses, seeing how enemies keep spawning and Liches just stand in corner and barrage at your troops unpunished.

The presentation is A+. All the visual aspects are above board. The weakness to me is in the complexity of controls. At this speed, it's easier to simply leave my troop in place rather than risk making a false move. A simple play-pause feature (think Total War) would definitely make this a winner. With just a few changes, I could see this game on Steam.

I am impressed by all the little details like the units "pushing" others during enplacement. Also by the fact that so many units move without lag. Pretty well done, folks!

The innovative engine alone deserves a 5/5. But this game also have great quality and fine gameplay, and I also like the story and the way of storytelling. I especially like that you can adjust the volume, wich is a quite rare option in flash games. My only problem is that the army placement area is too small, your whole army hardly fits in. Also there is not much strategy involved in the battles: you just order your melee units into fight and the ranged units behind them, and if one takes too big losses you withdraw them. More stressed strengths and weaknesses would be nice. And I'd like to see some description of the various enemy units.

You should improve the end of battle statistics screen, adding in the total number of casualties taken on both sides and the total number of casualties taken for each squad would make things much better :p

it needs to be where if you replay a level you get like 45% exp of the origanal time so if you're stuck on a level you can make your troops level up and beat that level

For the survival badge: Hire the riders and all the 4 cheapest ones. i could upgrade all fully exc the justice bringers.

"Strategy" to achieve 500 in Survival mode: set unit assembly to Auto, put everything in one spot with archers in the center. Focus on collecting coins. Result: 511 gold
Alternative: Same as above, use cavalry to get rid of enemy archers and wizards, but keep them away from other units. Mainly don't touch the units and focus on grabbing gold. Result: 595 gold
Conclusion: this is not a strategy game.

Finally a developer that cares about its players. Thank you guys for listening to our suggestions and the helpful responses.

Loved it. Just was a bit disappointed it was that short. Also maybe a bit more variety. Playing as the undead or even the thieves would have been awesome. I really enjoyed it, but this game has amazing potential.

"Sir we're surrounded!" "Good! Now we can fire in every direction." Last level I legit just put all my troops into one giant glob of people to win. Any other tactic I used caused me to die. Getting surrounded is the way to go, fellas!

Great game. Wish it was longer. A means to "select all" would be great. Also, more varied units. Lastly, I'm dying to know what unit would fill the last slot under squads. 5/5, regardless.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for not being a multiplayer crapfest. I ignored this game everytime it came up on the Kongregate trend lists because I kept assuming the lack of a multiplayer tag as a typo. God I can't even remember the last time Kong put up a game with RPG/War/Strategy tags that wasn't a craptastic multiplayer money grab. Thank you sooooo much for restoring a small measure of my faith in Kong.

The good: very fun; entertaining story; easy controls (no frustration). The criticisms: 1) Very, very easy game. I think I lost 2 complete units during the entire campaign (and those in the last two levels). If one deploys 1-2 melee units to guard the rear ranks, one could almost let the level run and not have to issue any move orders to win. Also, the writing could use a little proofreading and editing. That said, it was a lot of fun to play!

So I have this enemy banner carrier... He is standing in the middle of 6 of my squads... But none of them will kill him.

A nice game, but I can't understand why troops can't return to their original position once the fight is over... *kicks the banner guy*

I would honestly love to see an mmo version of this, especially with this kind of developer. The gameplay reminds me of an older game (now dead) on Kongregate called battle conquest, which was the best mmo I have ever played, and was even better than many console and pc games I've payed for. I think if this dev, with this kind of gameplay could easily make a game of that caliber, and could make a heck of a lot of money while not being one of the money sucking devs we see so often now.
