... Now, the "Eye", the expansion of the latter and of other previous introductions, etc. made total sense to me. But "Hearts" & some others: No dice. You provide a very generous quantity of boards - and the variation is awesome. But some ideas just didn't work for me. Of course, you might disagree with me [as well as some other players], but there's nothing wrong with experimenting with this or that idea. Maybe you could take a consensus if you really wanted to upgrade this game, because the variation and different ways of seeing things REALLY DOES keep one playing. Ask people: Which features did you find clear? - obscure? - etc.? - what do you want to see in the future? - personally, I would like to see more straightforward, clear variations and introductions that are simple to understand, and logically sound. This game really worked my brain out [for, as I said, I got faster and faster as I progressed] ...

... This really stagnated my start, because I didn't get the whole "Yellow Square" and "4 surrounding tiles". Seriously. The fact is that when that little yellow square appears, it doesn't have to do with ALL of the Tiles surrounding the number. The Yellow Square refers specifically to the 4 Straight Tiles: Up, Down, Left, and Right Squares - and NOT the other 4, which are the corners of the Number - the diagonals. I emphasize this because introducing newcomers with this description might not play off very well - and might even cause some to just quit altogether, believing the game is broken. [I certainly know that this is NOT the case - but I REALLY spent A LOT of time playing this] ...

... Having said this, AGAIN: I appreciate the variations - and I would only encourage you to keep working at 'em. But, quintessentially, I found some of these "Clue-Types" to be quite solid & straightforward - fairly intuitive to understand and utilize in analysis. That's the awesome part. But not all "Clue-Types" struck me this way - and some of them seemed a bit of a stretch - like I needed "hints for the clues". But I'm not going to talk about this aspect anymore - but I will say that I changed my rating up & down a few times primarily because of my confusion surrounding some of these add-ins. AND THIS: I think you need to revise some of the descriptions of these "Clues", as the Numbers of surrounding tiles for various mines is inaccurate: [e.g, saying "8 surrounding tiles" when "10 tiles" was what the number was really specifying] ...

... I'm no idiot, but the concept/idea encompassing this "tiles surrounding lonely mines" was something I couldn't get a hold of. Suddenly, I found myself just guessing - and using my memory to go back and retrace steps taken that were good. Now, I DO appreciate the infusion of these new perspectives - these new ways to pinpoint mines, but for me, "Hearts" was too hazy and obscure - and the "Compass" that followed was not much better [albeit it made more sense to me than the latter] ...

... So: I went slowly in the beginning - and like any great puzzle game, my brain quickened, and I was able to analyze the visuals in front of me much quicker and pass boards speedily - w/o resorting to chance or luck or any of that. Why? - Because, like you said: The solutions can be found without having to resort to anything else - the answers CAN be found by analyzing the board. I agreed. My rating goes up. And as I got better and better, I was suddenly ... well ... REALLY underwhelmed by the appearance of "Hearts" ...

So, forward & straight: I spent A LOT of time on this game - playing through all the levels I could on my PC [couldn't go beyond level 143], and I think the game's consistent add-ins of new "Clue Types" is what keeps this interesting. These different perspectives/ways of pinpointing Mines stretch the Brain in great ways - allowing necessary change-ups when things start getting too repetitive. I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for the game. So I just want to offer some quick & speedy words - and if you wish me to elaborate, then you can feel free to ask questions and reply on my page ...

@ucbu- You can change the controls. Click the little settings button at the bottom left, go where it says controls, and choose your pick. Right to Flag is the one I use, it involves just right clicking to do flags, way better for me personally.

The holding vs clicking controls are really annoying. There are many times I hold down the mouse button, but the game blows up a mine anyway.

This is a great development of minesweeper. It has several bugs and glitches that need fixing but otherwise it's a really good game. I had to guess on almost all of the levels that have just lonely mine and group indicators. I don't know if there's some assumption I'm missing or something else but there's never enough information to positively eliminate any squares. I hope you continue with it.

Great game, though the controls leave a little something to be desired. I know you can change them in the menu, but I wish you could just click the icon on the right side of the screen to choose which one you want to use at the time.

I have a couple requests, I see at one time you could click to dim clues that are no longer relevant. There have been times with certain clues that didn't dim automatically, would love this option back.
Another request would be other methods of marking, rather than Flag or Dig, maybe give us some other symbols we could use for note taking. ATM, I use excel to recreate the grid (each square taking up 4 cells) and I use one cell for marking whether the box can be alone or not (heart), another cell I mark with a letter to indicate one of the boxes with that letter must be flagged, the rest removed, and now I'm using a 3rd cell in a similar method as the second, but for levels like 123, where it could be a limited group of boxes in a specific area.

This is great! I always enjoyed Minesweeper but hated the random guess part. Like how each puzzle can be solved without guessing.
As I was playing this, I began to think, wow, this would be great as a game on my phone, and there it was, found it on there, with all the same levels too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like the idea, but the fact that each time you fail, the puzzle changes orientation is very disorienting and makes it quite difficult

@Eighty: I also fell for that one, but there is indeed only one solution. For a hint see http://i.imgur.com/MaixdyY.png

Lately the game has been registering clicks very slowly. As in, I click a tile, and move my mouse away--and it registers late, so it clicks where my mouse ended up, and not the tile I actually intended to mark (or dig). This is really, really frustrating.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@whitewolf416 you can change that in the options menu (bottom left corner the triangle with the 3 rows of dots and dashes). Personally I like "mark first".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@sheen4444 You can click on a clue and an explanation of that clue type will show up below the level (the only exception being blue boxes).

Great game. Really love it. Some tiny flaws I noticed in Lv 50: Sometimes the numbers (1 and 2s) remain white, also when all mines are marked and all other tiles are opened. And: Hint should be "Number of mines in the 10 surrounding tiles".

I may be a stick in the mud, but minesweeper diagonals are just too embedded in my brain patterns. This would be excellent fun if I could de-program myself more easily.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@quedzilla Did you play the levels leading up to that? Level 58 has the same thing. If the 1 and 0 are on the same row, the 1 must be seeing its lonely mine in the column and not the row.

www.zblip.com/mineofsight/?level=532b63abe93d84a384498a18c054af5a @ZBlip Still doesn't work for me...unless i open it in private window/incognito mode. New hypothesis: the game doesn't let you play the level again if it knows you've solved it before.

Would it be possible to get a feature to click on a marked mine and it would report how many mines it is connected to? I am too lazy to accurately count to 19.

About what I mentioned earlier, I just took two screenshots to demonstrate: http://imgur.com/CUhBvG7 and http://imgur.com/BNgnmZQ First is how far you can go logically, and the second is one possible solution you didn't pick that still fits all the provided clues.

Okay another one disappeared after i opened it, solved it, and refreshed the page, and it did not have blue rectangles buried under question blocks. I guess the server just isn't accepting any new levels?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Crap, forgot to include the level URL, which may or may not be necessary: www.zblip.com/mineofsight/?level=532b63abe93d84a384498a18c054af5a

Update: Just uploaded another one and it also disappeared after i logged out and back in (or after i refreshed the new tab with the level URL, idk which is the cause). Maybe it's because i placed blue rectangle clues under question blocks.

I uploaded www.zblip.com/mineofsight/?level=9ee732d54f11dc260d22b056598bf906 yesterday or the day before and now it's gone. I clicked the arrow, opening the level in a new tab, and copied the URL, so there's no way i mis-typed it. (If it helps, it was uploaded under this username, not "ANON" or whatever.)

I like the new clues added to the app version. However, the levels created to demonstrate them seem rushed. #167 in particular has about 4-5 different logical solutions.

I'm currently stuck at level 26 with a 50/50 chance of completing.

There can either be 2 mines in the bottom right and top left or 1 mine in the top left square.
