Being able to selectively control what you mine next might be beneficial. As it is it's kind of annoying to wait for it to mine 10 asteroids with 300,000 units of minerals, while waiting for it to mine the salvage parts so you can finally upgrade.

Sorry but you can hardly call this a game when all you do is wait to upgrade. Need action, enemy ships, defensive weapons, etc.

Needs to have the upgrade menu fit the screen and after a while my screen froze and could not longer move the universe around.

Nice graphics but it is kinda slow game. What about research? Add some features and it will be more interesting.
Also HUD is really difficult to read cuz letters are overlapping

Not to be a smartass, but have you tried baking you skybox as a sphere?
It always seems to do the job for me.

could you please separate the status display and the playfield? At the moment it's hard to read how much I've got of stuff due to overlapping numbers.

@Rylar, that won't solve the problem Oribus has... He expects it to run without having the page open. Running in the background means to run while the page is open, but not active (that is, not being on the currently viewed tab)

From what I've read the developer could fix the problem with it not running in the background by making things timer based instead of frame based.
