"but at what cost"-ending is way too much fun, altho the game just being over after you reach the chest is a bit meh :/ no boss fight or anything

I guess it's meant to be nostalgic or something, but I honestly find this tedious to play. Think I'll just pass on the badge/Kongpanion.

tungsteno, and anyone else who liked the music and game: another one you may like is The Grey Rainbow. It's a point and click game, but NOT a pixel hunt, and the title screen music is pretty neat like this one. Graphics are crayon-drawn but has a really nice story, so the simple-but-fulfilling aspect is much like this game.

Would it be possible to have an in-game saving system / file? Although it might be too much to have auto-saving points? (Was on last gem and then tab decided to crash = starting from beginning again...)

I gave the game 4 out of 5. Not having any options for controls is why it didn't get 5 out of 5. The game was well developed, multiple endings, nice graphics and good mechanics. I had a really hard time with the instinct for up to be jump. Also X is right above the alt button and I repeatedly closed the window mid jump. I had great difficulty with the high climbs that required both jumping and climbing. Getting the youth fruit was not an option for me, as I couldn't master the swinging from vine to vine. I couldn't seem to master the directional zapping needed to get the two fruits in the volcano. It is not uncommon for me to have difficulty with things like this. It is rare for me to persevere all the way to the ending in spite of them. Nicely done.

Got the "hero" ending but on Newgrounds it says the Hero ending is where you collect the sword without getting the gems. I got 10 gems, told good job by the temple, and then got the sword. That's supposed to be the pawn ending according to the wiki.

I had dropped to the bottom and got out of the tab, had to go to thegame again, not in Incognito, and my progress wasn't saved. Idk if it's because it didn't count as moving to a different screen but I did collect powerups.. so maybe this game will just not save for me at all as I play :/

also, anyone else reach what they're pretty sure is an ending, that puts them back at the title screen and everything, and still not get the achievement for the ending?

Does the game ever end? I stepped into the light and rode it up, but got stopped under the cliff island where words appear saying, "Hold UP to ride home." Um... HOW!? I can't get past the cliff island!

This game has such a nice soundtrack and atmosphere! It's got that special something that makes you come back to it after some time.

I don't get it: collect all gems, get powerups, get fruit of youth... "Set in the light to go up... HOLD up to go up... ... float infinitely... " is this a joke? how the F is the game supposed to end?

the line "This wall goes up forever...there's nothing there. Or maybe it's heaven" is still one of the most beautiful things I've ever read in a video game
