This video game began in a university dorm room, late in the summer of 2005. The goal was to create a side-scrolling game that people could download and play locally on their Windows PC. After constructing a rudimentary game engine, the author set to work creating all the images by hand, pixel by pixel. After many months, the artwork was complete, but school pressures prevented further development of the game itself. The project proceeded to gather dust for several years.
Later, in early 2010, the author decided to revive the project as a Flash game. After writing a completely new engine, recording sound effects, and arranging music, he deemed the development complete and launched this site. It is here for you to enjoy; please send lots of feedback, whether you love playing the game or find it terrible.
Many people say that video game developers tend to make their main characters look like themselves. This holds especially true in the case of Rise of Tansra, as is rather apparent when playing the game. The main character is simply called The Hero, and has no more personal name. Perhaps he can represent the hero in all of us as we cartwheel through life. Unfortunately, the author's acrobatic abilities do not match those of The Hero, but this has potential to change over time. For more information about the author, go to riseoftansra.com/author.html.

I'm not going to lie, there is room for improvement. First and foremost would to be to tighten up the control system a bit, the jump mechanisms do seem a bit off. Perhaps slowly drain the hero's health and have air bubbles along the way that filled it up again and forced the character to progress until he could reach the vial of oxygen. Other than that, nice game, 4/5.

It's okay I guess. I would try to avoid going towards the Mario type game, try to remake some of the animations, and redisign the characters and objects.

Part 3: I use super mario yet again, not really a story there and it did great... Part 4: Did you even play the game or did you just load it up, look at the first level, and then type your essay on how thought you were the smartest gamer alive and that this game designer should take some tips from your infinite pot of shit you call knowledge? Sorry for the long post dtenedor, good game 5/5 Keep up the good work and dont let worthless pieces of... I mean people get you down.

I like it. The controls could use a little work, but overall it's a fun game. I don't like using the arrow keys to move so it would be nice to be able to change them.

what always cracks me up when I see it in a game:
generic monster #1: 'oh yay, a bottomless hole! I should totally walk straight and not turn around near the edge; this way I will fall into it for sure!'
