Bug Fixes

Fixed a display bug at Emperor rank where an internal “max rank” marker (9999) was mistakenly read as an actual star count, causing thousands of stars to render and pushing the Start Battle button and bottom UI off-screen.
Fixed page scrolling being disabled in this scenario, which could leave players completely stuck (scrolling had been turned off in a previous update, turning a visual bug into a blocking one).

Improvements

Emperor rank now displays stars in compact form: a single star with a count (e.g. ★ ×137).
Any rank requiring more than 20 stars now uses the same compact format (e.g. ★ 7/50) for readability.
Added a safety net that automatically restores scrolling if a menu ever overflows the screen again, preventing similar lockouts in the future.

🎨 A World Redrawn

Every emoji is gone. Wares, talismans, avatars, the prince himself — all of it is now drawn artwork, cut in the same pottery hand as the board you play on.

The stranger on the road home has stepped out of the dark at last, and his cart has been rebuilt around him. Two wares are new; two old ones have left the stock for good.

Three painted portraits join the three you already own. One is a gift with this update; the other two can be bought with gold. The old three stay yours, free, forever.

The halls of Troy have found their music — one theme for the menu, another kept low beneath the clash of battle, so the fighting still speaks louder than the strings.

💎 Rarer Arms, More Often

The finest grades were far harder to come by than they were ever meant to be. Their odds now climb the deeper you press into the Odyssey — the long runs finally pay what they promised.

No monster lord will meet you before your first promotion — the opening rank is yours to learn in. Several crashes and a frozen-board bug have been put down along the way.

v8.3 — THE NAMING OF ARMS

EVERY GRADE ITS OWN NAME
Until now a spear was a spear. The plainest shaft in the camp and the one that took Hector both answered to Ash Spear, and only the colour of the letters told you which you were holding. No longer. Every arm carries a name proper to its grade, and the ladder runs the whole way up:

· Ash Spear, then Stout, then Fine, then Master — the work of better and better hands
· Pelian Shaft — ash cut on the slopes where the centaur taught
· Spear of Peleus — Chiron shaped it, Peleus carried it, and no other hand could lift it
· Doom of Hector — it found the one gap in his armour, and has not forgotten the way

Every weapon climbs a ladder of its own, and the descriptions climb with them. No Mythic arm calls itself plain any more.

A FIFTH ARM
Heracles has always struck with a club — his own skill says so. Until now he said it while swinging a bronze blade. There is a club in the camp at last: Oak Club, which becomes the Wild Olive, then the Nemean Cudgel, then Twelve Labours. It brings a trait no other arm has — SUNDERING SWING, where every blow carries through to the foes standing around the one you struck, in a wider ring at every grade.

EACH HAND ITS OWN WEAPON
Ares was carrying a thunder rod. So was Athena. The rod was always Zeus’s, and the others were only standing near him. Every hero now takes up the arm he was drawn holding — Ares his sword, Athena her spear, Heracles and Hector the club — and the thunder rod is left to the two who ever had a right to it.

If you have marched before, you will find some of your heroes standing empty-handed and their arms laid back out on the Armory table. Nothing has been taken from you. A weapon whose bearer has changed is simply waiting to be handed to one it now suits — grade, fragments and all. That Mythic rod is yours to place again, and this time it goes to someone who can truly call the thunder.

v8.2 — BOTH BANKS

THE FIELD OPENS
On a wide screen the two camps no longer stack one above the other. They take their true positions — one on each bank of the river, facing across it — and the board grows until it fills the screen, where before it stood in a narrow column with empty ground on either side. Nothing is asked of you. Turn a tablet, widen a window, and the field reforms as you watch. Hold a phone upright and it stands as it always has.

KNOW YOUR OWN BANK
Your ground runs blue and the foe’s runs red — down the outer edge of each camp, in the standard raised above it, and in the banners at the head and foot of the field. Facing across a river, the old rule of “mine below, his above” no longer tells you which bank is yours. The colors do.

ALSO FIXED
The little Prince’s cry used to run off the top of the world when he held the front rank — you would hear him and see only the underside of his breath. He speaks downward now when there is no sky left above him.
