The Bit Heroes Quest Speedrun has returned, but it’s been corrupted by Drenath.
Each death you experience will cost you. Each surrender will take you farther from the top.
You are alone in this challenge. No guild, no friends. The moment you call for help, what lurks in the shadows will be the last thing you will ever see.
Compete in a 2-week Speedrun ending on September 6th for riches and the honor of calling yourself truly hardcore. .
From August 24 - September 6, Speedrun participants will compete against each other to see who can progress the farthest in the game. As you complete certain categories, you will earn points which will determine your overall rank. Deaths and surrenders will deduct points from your overall score, so Heroes who can survive the longest will have the best shot at claiming a top spot on our leaderboards.
Like previous Speedruns, this challenge must be completed with a brand new character, and not your existing Hero. Only new characters will be eligible for prizes, which means you must make an alternate Kongregate.com account and sign up using this new account information down below.
There will be three distinct leaderboards for this event: Free to play, Paid, and NFT. Which tier you participate in is determined by the behavior of your Speedrun character, not any of your existing Heroes. (e.g if you don’t buy anything on your Speedrun character, you would participate in the Free to play category, regardless of how much you may have spent on your ‘main’/existing account). The only exception to this rule is for the NFT category - folks who participate in this tier will need to indicate on the signup form that they are a verified NFT owner, which will grant them access to compete against other NFT owners in an exclusive tier. By default, everyone except NFT owners will start in the Free to play category. If you make a purchase on your Speedrun account, you’ll automatically be moved to the ‘paid’ tier.
If your team (yourself and your familiars) die or you surrender in any game mode, points will be deducted from your overall score; while you may struggle to catch up to those who haven’t yet died, you still have a legitimate chance to reclaim your lost glory. You can participate in multiple tiers to grab as many prizes as possible. Want to try to win in the Free to play category along with the Paid and NFT ones? You absolutely can. You can only have one active speedrun character in each tier at a time.
Leaderboards will be updated approximately every 24 hours! You can use these to track your progress or more closely monitor your competition.
Rules
Only new characters, created after the contest has begun (August 24 - 3PM PT), will be eligible for prizes.
All prizes will be sent to your main Hero you play on Bit Heroes Quest, no substitutions or transfers.
When entering, players must list their Main BHQ Hero (the account receiving rewards) and their Speedrun account.
Players must create a Basic hero account with the name partial “_HC23” in the name to enter the Speedrun.
The Main account can either be a Basic or NFT
There can only be 1 active speedrun account you own per track
You must be a verified owner of a current NFT
After verification, any confirmed NFT holders can join the NFT Leaderboard when they sign up
Your NFT must be staked at all times until the event is over
Players may enter new Speedrun accounts during the Speedrun up till the day before the Speedrun ends at 3PM PT.
Players have until 3PM PST on Sept. 5th to enter a new account).

Join a Guild (regardless of Win or Surrender)

“_HC23” needs to be the end of their speedrun username or they’re disqualified
If name is changed, you are disqualified
Linking an NFT to your Speedrunning Account
Unstaking your NFT from your Main Account at ANY time will result in disqualification.
Setting up your Speedrunning Account
Step 1. Create a new Kongregate Account character.
Only new characters, created after the contest has begun, will be eligible for prizes. You can create a new Kongregate Account ahead of time. We recommend playing the web version of Bit Heroes. To create a new character, simply sign up for a new Kongregate.com account and load up the game (do NOT use a pre-existing Kongregate account). Step 2. Register your new character using the form below.
You can fill out the form any time before the contest ends. Make sure to fill it out correctly and include your character name AND tag. (Not filling the form out correctly with accurate information will make your submission invalid and considered ineligible to receive any rewards.)
Step 3. Play your new character and try to stay alive to get the best score!

Leaderboard Info & Prizes
Each eligible category will earn you points which will determine your rank.
All points earned via various Categories will be compiled into a single Speed Run Points total. This final Speed Run Points total is used to determine a Speedrunner's rank for the entire event. This rank is the sole determining factor in Leaderboard Prizes. There will be multiple leaderboards that everyone will be competing against each other within.
Scoring System
Levels: +1 point per level
Zones/Nodes: +2 points per Node
Trials: Players will be ranked by their points accumulated. Higher points in Trials = Higher points to score
Invasion: Players will be ranked by their points accumulated. Higher points in Invasion = Higher points to score
Deaths & Surrenders: -0.6 points per instance
