I'm trying to figure out the motives of the pirates. They're not stealing anything, yet they risk their lives to just blow up some mining equipment. I honestly think they're more like extremist environmentalist. Like PETA but for asteroids.

Man...this is a pretty sweet game...but it's missing one highly annoying thing...TARGETING!

It's kinda super irritating to watch a swarm of missiles go towards a group of yellow ringers instead of motherships. Would have been nice if you could tell a weapon or groups of weapons to target a specific wave.

In the 'super mothership' missions I have a slightly different approach. I build lots of energy relays in front of my base. The super mothership spends it's time destroying the energy relays instead of targeting 'useful' base units, giving your weapons time to attack the ship.

So I've been messing around and replaying the game to get all reds again after losing my save. And I've found that it's really quite possible to just build a stationary base and beat the final mission. No tricks, no fancy designs, no hectic rebuilding, no long drawn-out plans. Just a well balanced base that you can sit back and watch as it owns.

You need a dozen or so fully upgraded missiles (to destroy the super ships), around 6-10 fully upgraded pulsers (to destroy enemy fighters as well as super ship missiles), 6-10 upgraded solar stations and a couple upgraded energy stores so your pulsers don't stop firing. Keep a solar station or pulser at the front as they have he most health. I had 10 repairers, and that was more than enough to prevent the super ship beam from killing any solar stations or pulsers.

Toward the end you can sell off a little if you need to, for missile funds.

I agree with all the comments that this needs a target priority function.
