I Love the Item System.
Its great, because there is nearly no limit if you wanna get better technology. They are unbelievable rare and good items, which are expensive and often, not (allways, like in real live) worth its money. Sometimes you would sell your complete ship for one item, due its properties, and sometimes if you do it, you find out, that you sold a bigger rarity than you get.
This System of "random" propertys in items should be used much more often. Its more realistic and makes hunting for good items much more interesting.

*sigh* Escorting a ship that moves 1 m/s in the southeast corner is undoubtedly the most painful contract ever.
You can just discard unwanted contract any time. You will only lose those 10% insurance you paid front. In Void 2 there is different system of equipment, so speeds will not vary that wildly.
