Dorotea is a story-driven horror game. This is a real original Game Boy game made with GB Studio and playable here via the Binjgb emulator.

• Story *
  Dorotea is a researcher specializing in the history of her hometown of Conversano, a city near Bari, in Italy.
  An important event is just a few days away. Her job involves cataloging and archiving artifacts dating back to the 1600s, stored in a room that hasn’t been opened for decades.

I created this game in two weeks for the Italocurso Game Jam 2025, with “Italian folklore” as the theme.

Fortunately, Conversano is a city full of art, history, and legend, having also been a central hub for centuries, both politically and religiously.

For this project, I didn’t just want to “take” a specific story, I wanted to combine and mix different elements (real and fantasy) to create a unique tale, strongly inspired by, yet heavily spiced with elements of my own imagination.

I should point out that the game is not a reliable historical or topographical document.
