Excellent game! The AI is pretty good. I think there may be too much tree seeking and not enough calculated weight per important pieces. Taking a greater piece with a lesser piece should be something the AI seeks to avoid (the minotaurs are the queens of the game…they should be protected as such and the AI should almost never let a pawn take anything but another pawn…and the more a piece can move the greater it’s importance within its own kind…it gets fuzzier on whether a 3 move bishop is better or worse than a 2 move rook). Once you are either up by 2 pieces or have significant piece weight advantage, you’ve won.
However, if you designed the AI to both tree path as well as weight consider to a decent amount, it’d probably be much closer to unstoppable…which would not be fun, but might be nice as a bonus for completing hard (I’ve run out of time to complete hard for tonight…so if this the end reward, oops :-D).
Lots of fun and more complex than chess IMO. I think I might try to design something like this IRL. Very interesting concept!
