About me

I've been programming games off and on since the early 1980s, and playing them since the late 1970s. Currently my tool of choice is Flash 9. When I am not here I can be found on GameDev.net (as "Tesseract"). I have been programming in Flash since about 2002, and try to help others with technical questions as often as I can.

I have left a comment on your tutorial. Sorry, but I only have been trying to program with a glitchy computer for a month now… Hopefully I will get it soon ;D

I’ve been looking at your website; it’s very cool. I realize you’re mostly doing stuff with Perlin noise at this moment, but had you thought of trying Langton’s ants where the terrain contour is determined by the blurry trails they leave? That’s where my train of thought goes.

Not bad for what it is. I suggest adding a time limit or something to make it more of a game. Also, make it so that when I am dragging a piece it is above all of the pieces that are already in lace.

Hey Mikal: Did you instantiate the class? Put the code by itself in a file called "TrigThing.as". Then on frame 1 of your .fla, type this: "addChild(new TrigThing());". That should get you going.
