It’s 2022. Twelve years since I’ve entered the internet. I’m leaving the account up to come back to every once and again when the nostalgia hits – I guess I’m old enough to start using that phrase huh? I’ll tell you, it’s wild to visit old profiles of the friends I used to know, to take a look into the internet 2010-2012 and see how different things used to be. This might possibly be the last time I update my profile, leaving the previous up for old times sake or whatever. Maybe I’ll make this a tradition. So, hey, I’m Tomi. I’m currently a freshman in college, planning to major in Aerospace Engineering. Its going to be a tough road ahead of me, so I dearly hope the $120,000 starting salary is worth it. Right now, I’m actually sitting at my desk, procrastinating over another English paper. Yay..
I’ve been on Kongregate since just before my 13th birthday. I’ve got so many memories and the scent of nostalgia is overwhelming, so I’ll probably brush the dust off this old profile and return it high upon the shelf where it will sit for the next few years. Over the period of time that I’ve been with you fine gentlemen and women, this site has been more than just a gaming site to me. Well, I believe it was truly only used for gaming for the first year or so of this account. Then one day, I discovered a tab that opened up a whole new world for me. I found that first chatting tab, away from the default achievements tab, and suddenly, games weren’t important any more. I started being social. My world exploded with color as you guys filled it with emotion, joy, and just an overall feeling of being involved.
As a kid, that was my world.
Not much longer after that, I found my first true love. Sure, it was long distance, but we made it work. We made time for each other and always found at least an hour or two per day to sit down and share the events of our days or revel in that casual roleplay. Unfortunately, it only lasted a year. But it was the first feeling of actual love that I had ever experienced, and I would have never have met her without first meeting all of you. I managed to hold onto a few close friends that still stick around today, although some of us have drifted apart.
So, in the end, I came back to tell you guys how awesome you all are and to never change for anybody. Here, you’re free to express yourselves in every single way imaginable. Stay free.
