The man tried to slow his breathing as he moved through the dark tunnel. It was cold, damp, and tiny, but he had no choice. He knew that IT was coming.
He rounded the corner and stared straight ahead.
There it was, sitting calmly on the floor. It was a little straw doll, somewhat like a tiny scarecrow, and one of it’s eyes was popped out.
The man breathed heavily for a few moments, then screamed and threw his torch at it.
“WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!” he shouted at the doll.
Of course it never spoke to him. It never did.
He started sobbing, then sat down in the corner of the room, and cried some more.
When he finally looked up, it was turned in his direction. He jumped up and ran to the exit, but he stumbled and landed on his face. When he looked up again, it was standing right over him. He screamed. But nobody heard him.
