here is a great guide for Absinthe, it grades most of the available modern makers as well as the vintage. There is a US made “Absinthe” listed that rates ok despite the very low wormwood content. It is St George out of California. It is made the right way, distilled from brandy but production is very limited. I plan to have a friend of mine out there try to get a bottle for me.

if by chance your order doesn’t clear customs they reship free but I have never had a problem. I would say to try the Jade Nouvelle Orleans or the Jade PF 1901. Roquette 1797 also has gotten good reviews but I haven’t tried it. The Virtual Museum at that site is great to look through as well.
