Gamma Bros. wins weekly contest
We had some excellent games uploaded last week, much to the dismay of Kongregate's indecisive judges for the weekly contest. As we agonized over the decision between Prehistoric by True Darkness/Buzzwerd and Four Second Fury by jmtb02, Gamma Bros. swooped in on Sunday (the last day of our weekly contest) to win both our hearts and last week's $250 prize.
A special thanks to jmtb02 for also submitting Dark Cut, and to True Darkness and Buzzwerd for sharing more of their terrific collaborative archive.

Contest winner announced
A lot of great games were uploaded last week on Kongregate (just our first week in alpha!), but Fancy Pants Adventures took home the weekly contest prize of $250. We at Kongregate were also impressed by Galactic Gravity Golf and Swoop-to-Nuts, which were named last week's unofficial honorable mentions.
Our weekly contests run from Monday through Sunday, so any games uploaded between last Monday and midnight this Sunday will be considered for this week's prize. Thanks to everyone who's uploaded, and keep those games coming!

Friday Night Outage
We want to apologize to all our players for the 4-hour outage we had last night. We now know the cause and are taking steps to ensure it does *not* happen again. For those interested, there's a full writeup of the issue and our response to it here.

We've just issued 5 invitations to all our current users, so let your friends know about Kongregate. As our site continues to grow in stability, features, and games, we'll issue more invitations as we draw closer to our public launch. Look for the "invite a friend" link at the top of every page.

This is just an early alpha. Our plan is to add a lot more polish and features before launch, but we wanted people to play with what we have first. So tell us about bugs you find, what we're doing right, what we're doing wrong, and what you really wish we'd do. Send it all to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll thank you with points...once we finish implementing them.
