Product Manager

As a Product Manager on the Kongregate mobile publishing team, your mission is to maximize the business success of our portfolio of mobile games. Your primary responsibility will be analyzing data and building recommendations to improve all aspects of free-to-play games, from the features that drive monetization and retention, to the analysis necessary to drive profitable paid user acquisition. You will work with Producers to help them gain a deeper understanding of how users are behaving in their games. You will also work with our marketing team to analyze marketing campaigns, player retention and virality to help guide budget allocations across networks.

The ideal candidate is an avid game player, understands mobile game design and product best practices, and has an inherent love of analytics and data.

Responsibilities:
Prepare projections for game evaluations and reviews at different stages in the lifecycle of a game (test markets, launch, live).
Proactively monitor game KPIs and work with the Producers to prioritize the game needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to monitor the health of current games and optimize game systems and features.
Own and provide feature design recommendations to our portfolio of games with a focus on business priorities and impact of top KPIs (retention, monetization, virality, etc.).
Support all recommendations with a blend of industry experience, data/analysis, and portfolio trends.
Collect, clean, and analyze game data to uncover trends and derive new insights into specific games.
Guide developers through SDK integration and assist with the design and implementation of schemas for tracking game events and data.
Work with 3rd party developers to effectively meet their needs, push back when necessary while maintaining a strong relationship.
Educate and train new hires and junior team members.
Juggle multiple high priority games at any given time.

Requirements:
Expert SQL and Excel skills.
Expert knowledge of statistics.
Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and teamwork skills. Emphasizes actionable data driven decision making.
Experience working with free-to-play game products and knowledge best practices; experience with midcore genre preferred.
Passion for the free to play mobile games business.
Self-motivated, independent problem-solver, intellectually curious, and ambitious.

Preferred:
Quantitative degree (Engineering, Math, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, etc.).
2+ years experience in the gaming industry in an analytical or PM role.
Computer science coursework or programming/scripting experience is a plus.
Statistics, data modeling, machine learning, or data mining coursework/experience is a plus.

As a Data Analyst on the Kongregate mobile publishing team, your mission is to help drive key product insights that will ensure the success of our portfolio of mobile games. You will be exposed to many different industry facets, such as game design, product management, user acquisition, game production, business development, and engineering.

Our ideal candidate is an avid gamer and SQL wizard, with a love for analytics and the mobile gaming industry.

Responsibilities:
Analyze game systems and features.
Based on analytical results, communicate new insights and work with the Producers and Product Managers to provide recommendations.
Analyze performance changes and provide insights into the driving factors of such changes.
Collaborate with the cross-functional team to identify business opportunities and provide analytical solutions.
Troubleshoot data quality issues and work with product managers, producers, internal developers, and external game developers to reach solutions.

Requirements:
Quantitative degree or equivalent experience (Engineering, Math, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, etc.).
1+ years experience performing quantitative analysis, preferably for a technology company.
Expert knowledge of SQL.
Strong working understanding of statistics.
Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and ambitious.
Seeking a long-term career in mobile gaming analysis, design, or production.
Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

In addition to the primary website, this team also is responsible for the social platform of our games publishing business exposed through our SDK.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Kongregate, you will work with Ruby on Rails, Ember.js, MySQL, and Puppet. Our website is both a destination for end users and also serves as the backend API for other related products. Due to this fact, your job will include building customer facing features, implementing services, and maintaining internal tools.

Candidates should be smart, eager to learn, excellent communicators, and extremely tenacious. We are looking for someone who is willing to accept ownership of a product and work to both increase its capabilities and improve its quality. You should also be able to work with product owners to provide clarity and vision on features as they are designed and developed. Candidates who have both experience and desire to lead a technical team are highly preferred. This position has the potential to quickly take ownership of leading the Platform Engineering team.

Senior Software Engineer

Working with general supervision, the Senior Software Engineer, Ultrabit is an autonomous individual contributor working on building and developing games on electronic devices. Associates in the role are autonomous and can pick up new tools and languages quickly. They have a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals and how they apply to making games. They will work closely with the technical leads, architects, and product to make sure quality and business objectives are reached. They should have a direct impact on the product; pushing new features on a weekly cadence. This role interacts with a supervisor frequently, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and direction. This role is generally characterized by a basic level of organizational scope, basic relational complexity, moderate technical complexity, and a basic level of independent decision making.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities:
Develop best of class games on mobile and web enabled devices using Unity and C#
Ability to use Android Studio and/or XCode to develop/maintain native mobile code
Creates and pushes features that align with product objectives autonomously
Uses project management tools
Works closely with the producer to accomplish sprint goals
Breakdown specs and task into logical components
Identifies bugs and issues with the codebase
Mentors Associate Software Engineers and Software Engineers
Proficient in Unity, C#, and at least (1) server side language like Javascript or PHP
