Mobile QA Tester

Kongregate, a mobile and web games publisher, is looking for a Mobile QA Tester. This role will work closely with our mobile production team in a variety of areas including testing builds, creating test plans, and working with third party QA organizations in their testing efforts.

Responsibilities:
Accurately enter bugs found in a clear and concise manner
Construct test plans and test cases for a variety of games
Test other Kongregate platform tools and offerings
Complete regular test plans and playthroughs of mobile games
Manage build releases, track changes, and ensure submission candidates have met all necessary criteria for release
Document new features or changes to Kongregate platform tools and the state and health of individual games
Read and respond to community forums and emails
Requirements:
Passion of retesting with an understanding of QA methodologies
Quality Assurance experience in the video games industry is preferred
Working knowledge of iOS and Android devices
Ability to write reproducible bug reports
Knowledge and understanding of mobile free-to-play games

Sr. Producer, Mobile Games

Working independently, the Sr. Producer, Mobile Games oversees the creation and operation of mobile games by external developers through Kongregate's mobile publishing program. The Senior Producer oversees the work 3rd party game developers and also serves as an individual contributing designer and analyst. The desired business objective for this role is to ship and operate hit games for mobile and to help the GameStop/Kongregate organization achieve its overall business objectives. Associate will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Nearly all routine activities are completed without a supervisor's advance approval; many non-routine activities will require some supervisor consultation. This role is generally characterized by working levels of scope and complexity, and a moderate level of independent decision making.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Be the business owner of games created and shipped by 3rd party developers
Lead game projects from concept through implementation and post-launch iterative optimization
Develop and share best practices and playbook documents to help improve processes and designs within the team
Participate in and help drive business development activities, contract negotiations and developer outreach
Operate effective schedules that balance business objectives and resource constraints
Work closely and collaboratively with creative and operational leaders throughout the GameStop portfolio of entertainment businesses

DevOps Engineer

Kongregate is a large-scale platform for web and mobile games. We currently have a DevOps Lead who manages infrastructure with lots of developer contributions. This has worked well for us, the site is performant and stable. We've reached a scale where it makes sense to grow the DevOps functions within the organization. We currently have around 30 production servers.

Our technology stack is CentOS Linux, MySQL (percona build), Redis, memcached, Ruby 2.1.2, Rails 4, Nagios, Scout, Redshift, EC2 and New Relic. We automate all systems administration with Puppet, Kickstart, Cloudformation and Rake. We don't expect you to have experience with all of these, as long as you are willing to jump in and able to learn quickly:

Qualifications:
2-5 years building applications, with experience in systems engineering and software development
Great communication skills
Linux system administration and automation using Puppet and Ruby
AWS experience, our main subset of tools are Redshift, EC2, Cloudformation and Elasticache
 
MySQL administration and performance optimization
Redis and memcached administration
Systems monitoring
Web Development using Ruby on Rails a plus
Strong systems security mindset

Director of Product, Mobile Games

Working under general supervision, the Director of Product, Mobile Games lead product management for our mobile games portfolio. This position will coordinate with production, analytics, and marketing teams to qualify and then optimize games created by external developers. The principle business outcome for this position is to optimize our publishing portfolio titles, driving significant traffic and revenue across many platforms. This role interacts with a supervisor as often as needed by either. Most duties may be performed with a supervisor's advance approval.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Critically analyze prospective games and provide funding recommendations by building game deconstructs and predictive business models
Lead the evaluation and optimization of existing portfolio titles
Research and evangelize free-to-play platform, product and design best practices, working with our production team to ensure these features and systems are included across upcoming and live portfolio titles
Collaborate with platform product management team on the feature roadmap for both the consumer-facing and developer-facing portions of the Kongregate mobile platform
Create feature specifications, designs and documentation
