I love the game mechanics and the concept. What really keeps bugging me, though, is that I try to flag a particular tile, but release the mouse clicker a bit too early and so I end up digging the square instead.
I finally got the first Hard badge. After nearly eight years on Kongregate, this badge has finally pushed me to rank 65. I'm glad it happened on such a good game, too!
I love how simple the controls and design are while still making the game fun. I think it would benefit from keyboard controls, though (i.e., using spacebar or really any other button instead of the mouse).
This game would flow better if instead of having to click "next level" you could just press space. It's the only part of the game which uses the mouse.
I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of sonic-related content. I was hoping I would be able to play through Mario-style levels with Sonic's capabilities (i.e., rolling attacks and dashes), or play through a sonic-style level with Mario's jumping capabilities. Instead it's just a Mario game, but with a picture of Sonic in it. Even though the player character looks like Sonic, he moves and jumps just like Mario.
This version fixes the biggest problem I had with the original: its lack of a save feature.
I REALLY love that you have unlockables, but that you need skill to unlock them and not grinding. I don't want to have to tediously grind to purchase upgrades, this game is awesome as it is.
Not bad, but some bugs in the interface drag it down. For example, after viewing the "rules", there doesn't seem to be a way to go back to the main menu except by refreshing the page. Also, the controls without a touchscreen are somewhat clunky. I'd recommend adding arrow keys controls (up= jump up or float upwards, left and right = swipe left or right).
When I played the Lost Levels, I found it much harder to avoid dying as Mario than it was in the original SMB. But now, when I WANT Mario to die, somehow he seems to beat the Lost Levels so much more easily than I remembered! Finally got all the stars, 5/5. For the sequal, I'd like to see some more power-ups: racoon, tanooki, frog, hammer, and maybe even P-wing. Also, P-switches? Then you could make another sequel, Kill the Plumber World, with cape feather levels and Yoshi:D
haha clever observation. awesome suggestions, I was so focused with adding new playable enemies I forgot about the powers of the plumber. Also we're adding vines and breakable blocks
Well! do you pass the stage 1 yet ? :). This is not a plaform game you know :). I hope you play to to the end. thank you for playing :)!
