As a game, this is pretty poor compared to the other two. But honestly, it's more of an extended joke and commentary on the state of gaming, which is pretty much what this series always was. But even then, it only really got two good jokes and one of them was outdated (the Evony joke, you don't see those much anymore). The other good one was that clicking on Paypal sends you to a bitter Google search, which was pretty funny and clever.
Fact is, I don't think we need more UC games because everything that needed to be said was said already. At this point, the joke is just getting stale.
On one hand, I can't think of many game sthat let me cosplay a cat as Eva Unit 01. On the other hand, this game is just awful. It took me a while to realize it was awful, but now I just feel like my time was utterly wasted. There is not "difficulty," just stat-gates. I can't get farther than Mechacoonzilla, not because he's hard, but because I need to grind more. Literally nothing I can do will change that fact. Coupled with the fact that my ranged ground units will randomly stop attacking until I exit to the title menu, and I can't honestly give this game anything more than a 1/5. Broken in both technicality and in gameplay. As amusing as it is to see the wide variety of costumes, it's not worth the negatives. And as one final, minor nitpick: The least you could do is swap a few costume abilities to better reflect their character. Sub-Zero doesn't have freeze? Sonic doesn't have speed? Kinda lazy.
Wow. The final boss is just plain broken. As if the shitty controls weren't enough of a handicap, you gave him spammy triple damage attacks that would be hard to dodge even IF the controls worked, AND his health pool makes having max upgrades feel pointless.
Seriously, way to spike the difficulty to a sheer wall at the last minute, that's a great way to drive off your players and get a lousy review.
As nice as it is to be able to trade faction coins for production, it would be FAR better to trade unused faction coins for coins of your current faction. Relying on raw RNG to generate 100 coins is just horrible, and I can only imagine it will get much worse as the game progresses.
Y'know what would be a huge improvement? A chart of some sort which shows you, visually, a breakdown of all your characters and how much DPS they provide. Like a big pie chart, highlighting the top and bottom five.
This game has taught me that I'm a terrible person, willing to sacrifice humanity countless times in my insatiable lust for citrus fruit. Where does the madness end?
Okay, after having issues with the RNG spell, I then ran into the damn skill point cap on rune upgrades. That just brought the whole thing to a screeching halt. Sorry, but that's two issues too many, this game had good potential to start with but the flaws, while few, are huge and intentional.
The reason for the cap was for people to build their own playstyles. However, the runes will be upgradable to level 25 once the game is finished. (a feature recently added) But at this point, it seems you won't be getting there. Thanks for trying the game, still.
I have never seen anything in a game with the sheer level of contempt for the player as Chaos Bolt. I would have completely ignored the spell, but then you put in enemies who take laughable damage from anything but Chaos Bolt. It's incredibly frustrating to have zero control like that. The closer a game gets to being great, the more a terrible design choice like that tears it apart.
Believe it or not, Storm Rune is the strongest of the 3. You just need to give it some love. If RNGod is not blessing you much, it's Level 1 Arcane Spell is a good solution for that. Also, early game, the goblins will call you a -ITCH, where Lucrea will get enraged. Watch out for that as your NEXT chaos bolt will be 100% accurate. The Upgrade 'Spell Tinker' improves Storm Rune's MAX damage compared to the other two (MIN damage) if accuracy is the true problem, remedy it with seed the accuracy stat.
Thus far a really nice game, though I have to ask: Why is this not available on mobile? It's clear you designed this for a mobile device, and it really would work much better that way. I also have to echo the complaint that I want to see the monster evo requirements even after they've been unlocked.
The fact that enemies can just bail and move their units to one of your other planets turns this from a tactical game into "catch the greased-up deaf guy." Really frustrating and definitely the worst of this genre I've played.
Hooo boy, where to begin...Pointless, mind-numbing repetition, enemies capable of attacking (and mini-stunning) you as soon as you can see them, a completely pointless melee attack, a sniper rifle crippled by it's own barrel length, and an ultimate weapon that costs too much for a game that got old almost instantly. And I'm gonna go ahead and remove points for using the tired "...In Russia" trope that used to be funny, and for mixing it with zombies of all things (because we really don't have enough zombie games yet, guys).
Cons: Upgrades are waaay too expensive, and the difficulty ramps up much faster than the player's capabilities. Needs more guns with different options (Piercing, a real spread weapon, etc.) Pros: Hilarious dialogue, generally good in concept. I'd say this game has a long way to go but is already farther than most others of it's kind.
Why is it lately that I can't find any food but I find tons of water? This isn't just me, my friend is having the same problem. Also standard rant: All Fat Runners All Day Erry Day.
I like how things happen completely at random. Why is there aim assist sometimes? What does the meter mean? Why are there three grey balls at the top and why do they disappear and reappear? Why do balls sometimes get added? Why does the color of my ball change sometimes when I launch it? What do all these number mean? How much did you pay to get a front page spot?
So I guess Union City id the obesity capital of the world. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have like 8x the HP of normal zombies and the ability to run, or if they made up like 10% of the zombie population. But when most of what you're fighting is fat runners it starts to gets aggravating quickly.
Why are the special powers not hotkeyed to anything? This strikes me as a massive oversight...They should be hotkeyed in the order that they appear at the bottom of the screen.
Build cats. Place a snake at every entry. Build cats until nothing can get through. Sit there wondering what to do with the 400+ fruit you have left because cats are the best and cheapest tower.
