I turned a two-word answer into a one word with floorplan instead of floor plan, so after that I've tried other two-word compound words, and then it only takes the first half... making New York "new"... and saying the top answer is City, for instance. It's happened more than once. A bit weird. I wonder if each entry is adding to the database, therefore it's growing. If so, it's a really neat concept. Needs tweaking, however.
Hi. Yeah you are right it needs a bit of tweaking. Natural language processing is however a little tricky. And you are right the Database is extended with every answer.
I wish you could change the speed a bit - slow it down. (as an option in the settings, I mean) Great concept. Not what I was expecting - less of a puzzle, and more a timing thing.
Interesting. Simple concept. The speeding up of the actual beats makes me nervous too. I love how you calculate difficulty via BPM at the beginning. Wish there was an easier way to avoid virusus, they just swarm the pulse points while I stay there. Nice.
I failed. Just matching colours didn't seem to work, and I couldn't figure out who was "youngest" and liked books. When the daughter said "This is stressing me out, why doesn't he just DIE already" it made me feel all :( and :/ . Haha. Didn't expect to be just a little soul, either, when I decided to move around. Neat.
I changed the colours of the objects/ideas so that they'd stand out better against whatever sprite was behind them, but I now realize that colouring them may have been a bad idea. Whoops.
Anyway, thanks for playin'!
Oh, I got it. I made it to the end. I like how the longer you spend time in the room, the creepier it gets. Yeah, I'd say it's less of a game, and more of an interactive experience. Good job guys.
Thanks a million, if the one thing we were all saying once it was handed up was that we could have done with more gameplay! I'd love to expand on this with a full house and actual fail scenarios.
Cheers again for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it =D
Haha... Okay, I can see the floorboard moving. (And sadly, Telltale Heart is a Poe I haven't read, so I only know of it from The Simpsons)... hah! If this game is just to be a creepy experience, you've achieved it. (And great job, the last time the room shook suddenly my heart flipped and I jumped a little.) If I'm supposed to be able to do things with objects and/or leave the room, it is buggy and needs refinement.
Um, but what do you do? The whispering guy when you pick up the vase seems to say "this is a bottle"? ... And once I pick up an object, I can't do anything besides put it down again. And I can't pick up the fire poker (I was hoping for a weapon as I continued, or to at least start a fire in the fireplace with the candle before I left, or to take the candle with me on my investigations.) The door doesn't seem to want to open either, but just rattle. Which is creepy - you guys have set up a good creepy atmosphere.
Another whole day, and the game still will not load for me anymore. (I browsed away once yesterday night JUST after creating my character and before my first HUNT on the FIRST Damnation page.)
I like this. I love it when the screen goes red with black silhouettes. That's class, that is. And that there are bonus points for headshots and combos. Great fun!
I just started a new game, since seeing the contest in my email, got to the first Damnation page, browsed away, and came back, and now the game won't load at all.
I got about 12,000 points. It's a cute game. I'll try it again some time when I have more time. The room with the archer boss was tough - too many enemies at such a low level, projectiles flying at me from all directions.
We tweaked a bit maybe you want to try again let us know if you find other odd behaviors.
