The thing I love most about the creeper world series is its creativity. Truly an original work that stands out in an increasingly uninspired market (what? another MMO where I can exchange real money for fake money so I can beat the other people who haven't yet spent real money for fake money? -barfs-). I digress. This, CW2, is a departure from the rest of the series, bravely traversing a land of depth and side-scrolling-ness while traditional RTS games snicker their snoody top-down snickers in the corner. While it may not quite stand up to CW1 or 3, the game's departure from the series is just another example of the author's creativity and dedication to keeping the work fresh. All in all, this game is very fun to play and even re-play, and if it's your first taste of Creeper World, definitely check out the other games! Soon you'll be shooting little pixels into that treacherous blue goo in your sleep :^) -William the First
I think this game has great potential. It's too bad you released it in alpha, I feel like it's going to get a lower rating because it's still in development and then once it's released it may be hard to shake that rating and get seen. 5/5 from me! :)
So, if you listen closely, whenever a crypt produces a charge (but doesn't fire it), it makes a little *click* sound. What? Why? Why, mister Crypt, what are you doing that clicks? Now, when they shoot it makes a nice little electric squishy sound and it feels right and a little bit satisfying even but that -click-... Why for click?
"you look at peoples comments and update based on them? other devs should learn from you" .... dude... Let me tell you a secret:
Developing flash indie games--especially good, popular ones like this--pays almost nothing, takes up all tons your time, and is almost completely thankless. People do it for the same reason you might join a garage band, just for fun, to excersize your talent, or to grow as an artist. I think, as gamers, we should come together and just say thank you for this free gift.
Instead, browse Kong comments, and even the nice ones are filled to the brim with "You should have done it this way" or "Here's two weeks worth of work I just thought up you could do that would amuse me."
Is it any wonder there are so many indie devs dropping out?
Me, I'd be more than happy to watch a thirty-second commercial, leave something in the tip jar, and enjoy the free entertainment brought to me through the labor of as3 programming, vector-art, and lots of sweat and tears.
It's hard to believe the same people who made incursion--with all it's polished details and depth--also made this game. Not to say it's a horrible game, it's just... not incursion. 3.5/5
Dude, I don't think those are zombie dogs. I think my character is just telling me they're zombies so I don't quit playing. An abandoned city has to have a lot of stray dogs, right? And how they whimper a little when you kill them?? People zombies don't do that!
This game not only stands up to its predicessors, but is superior in almost every way. The designers really have outdone themselves!
I love the RPG and sim elements in addition to great animation. It seems like every aspect from decision 2 and mideveal was tweaked and enhanced. The only problem I can think of is really just a few typos and spelling mistakes (which do nothing to detract from the 5/5 rating it deserves.
A few I can remember, (trying to be helpful, not condescending) 1. In the team info it refers to both the builder and the engineer as the 'engineer' 2. Text popups sometimes say "Factory Builded" instead of "Factory Built"
3. The description of the first sniper rifle was worded confusingly
4. Also, I keep seeing ATMs spawn on top of dead people, like they died not of the zombie outbreak but because they were shaking the cash machine and it fell on them lol maybe it isn't a glitch
Also, dev/devs, I love you in the face. For serious. Great work!! :-)
So, there've been a couple of situations where because of an accident the merchant guy thought I was attacking him, and both times he responded with what I'm going to say was a bit of an overreaction ^^
