Addendum to previous comment -- now I'm winning nearly every game I play so I guess I learned something along the way subconsciously? Or got luckier? Saving up a little money for one big push does help...and I've also had some success with building a ton of walls to slow my own army down during the first wave, so they show up after everyone else is dead. Second wave, send in guys with better equipment to back them up. Fascinating simulation of what it is like to be a king who lives near a hill!
A really interesting game. I'm always a fan of watching A.I.-controlled melee battles and this one had an enjoyable slug-festiness to it. I did feel like I didn't understand why I kept losing so badly the first few times (it seemed like the A.I.'s would only build spikes on my base and nowhere else, but that's probably just sour grapes). I also don't feel like I changed my strategy significantly when I finally won...but boy did I ever win. =P
Brilliant! This game is full of clever ideas. I especially like how the player is responsible for most of the danger in the game (either by making the enemies mad, or just being a dope and bouncing an enemy off the wall and right into your face). When there's lot of enemies on the level they can start to feel a little bit bullet-spongey, but that's a small complaint. Excellent work! (Also -- I like the occasional giant cartoon organ as an absurd contrast to everything else in the game, and as easy prey =P).
A little bit fiddly, but good puzzles once you get accustomed to the quirky physics. I will have to come back to it when my brain is working and see if I can solve more than 2 rooms. (Also -- I give you an extra star because of the animated footstep noises).
Thank you for your feedback! :) Maybe I tried a little too hard to meet the 'no text' modifier for the Game Jam. :-] I'll be sure to add a timer when the Jam ends.
Whew! Terribly exciting, but I am a very bad spacepilot shipman. It was much better after reading the description and realizing that the right-click boost lets you ram other ships to kill them :) but I still think that I may never see stage 02. =P
As difficult and rewarding as building a tower of squirrels in real life. There is sinister idle-game DNA here but it's all worth it for the Put On A Show button.
This was fun. I was able to puzzle out most of the workings without any text, though I'm still hazy on what some of the floaty collectibles do. The bombs were quite satisfying once I realized they were doing damage. The only trouble I had was when going very fast (usually after a collision) my ship would be offscreen for a second or two.
Congratulations on finding a way to make mini-golf even more infuriating. I like it (especially the horrified gasping sound when you lose). Some of the levels are properly villainous...not sure I would have the endurance to play a longer version, but that's a personal failing.
Fun game :D nice and snappy. I nearly ragequit the last level because of spikes and physics glitches, but then was able to use other physics glitches to save the day.
Whoa, second playthrough was...less fortuitous. (But I advise people who begin to doubt that the game is all forests and streams to keep playing, as there are a few other things to find, even some signs of civilization!)
Woo! I beat it! (I didn't even know it was a game with an ending =). I still had a perfectly healthy arm and leg left over at the end, too. =P
(Flask helped a lot...not sure if the Rope did anything for me or not).
Random fact I learned yesterday -- if you use Firefox and have an adblock plugin and are experiencing choppiness, it may help to disable it while running a Flash game.
No guarantees this will work, but I hope it helps someone! It's helped me with other games that were giving me lag problems.
Rather fun! I can't find the blasted 14th key, though. =P
(Mouselook sensitivity is very low, but that's probably just my particular mouse settings affecting things)
I like the style of it so far, too =) (As usual, playing a cool Unity game makes me want to learn how to use Unity)
Played it and liked it! I found the computer to be pretty challenging actually, though that might just be because I'm bad at Othello ;) My wife and I played a ocuple games last night as well.
Much better than the way I played othello all my life (where you could place tiles anywhere, not just someplace that flips a tile; and where you didn't need to start in the center).
Hey, I was looking for an othello game in the interwebs a week or so ago and couldn't find one! How handy -- I will play it now and see if it meets my exacting standards.
Thank you for your feedback! :) Maybe I tried a little too hard to meet the 'no text' modifier for the Game Jam. :-] I'll be sure to add a timer when the Jam ends.
