I found the last level absolutely impossible, especially in the later parts where I ran out of room to place blocks and couldn't use about 100+ sousl. Then I noticed there was a store where you could buy upgrades. Having a sword attack with 10 damage and a stun chance is pretty helpful. :p Especially in conjunction with digestion blocks.
If you make a full combat guy and make your jobs construction then nightguard, you'll get most of the stats you need. Just work all the time at the beginning and never spend less than 80gp on a rest. For school, do combat training until your combat attack is very close to 100, and then if you feel you need it, do a little bit of magic defense schooling (strategy, theology or magic - it doesn't matter as long as you DON'T do Science as it REDUCES magic defense).
Very prone to lag. Do not play on a netbook or during other processive intensive tasks. Might be worth putting your laptop on high performance.
The controls lag for up to 20 seconds. That means death, and then 10 seconds of not being able to click 'no' on the continue screen.
Excalibur is probably the best weapon in the game for pure damage output, and you can acquire it by following the hint at the beginning of level 19. Good game, horrible grammar, needs work, 4/5.
Got to 8345 before I got bored and sat in a poison cloud. Used pin explosives as main and laser as back up, in an Arena sized stage with max difficulty. Just sit in the middle floor with your main and you won't have to fight too many enemies at once, then venture out with a laser to collect ammo and farm the large groups for points. Go back to the middle floor to recover (there's an ammo box that spawns there too), use a laser while the groups follow you until you have a safe amount of health. Get out your pin explosives, wait until health is fully recovered and reload everything - repeat.
By the way, the game is 'fair'. It's winnable, you get unlimited tries, and as an intellectual entity -YOU- (unlike your computer opponent) can use those unlimited attempts to find that winnable outcome. Oh wait, you're not an intellectual entity. LOL
Completed with 6/6 Heroes, 30/30 Cards and 5/5 Cave of Trial. Nothing left to complete as far as badges go. Hopefully they give this game badges. lol =)
