Fun game with a good interface. it's user friendly and has good potential. Unfortunately, it's almost insultingly easy, especially once everybody can attack twice per round. The enemies need to scale up in HP a lot more to be able to soak a few hits and be a threat, and they should also get special moves to bring some tactics into play. They should also come in groups because as it is, you can pick them off one at a time.
to the people saying this reminds them of Heroes of Might and Magic: This game is based on King's Bounty, an old, OLD RPG for DOS/Apple/Sega Genesis. King's Bounty was made by the same team that went on to make the Heroes of Might and Magic series.
So this game is basically a flash remake of HoM&M's dad.
Yet another overly grindy game from BerzerkStudio where grind matters more than skill, and you have to pay to win. Saving myself both money and time--when I saw how slowly you advance in this game, I stopped playing.
I don't think the game needs a tutorial. It's intuitive enough that you can figure it out within less than a minute of trial and error. I would be deeply irritated if I had to sit through a boring tutorial for such a simple game.
This is my philosophy as well, my intent for the upcoming update is to create a tutorial that will not require any "sitting through", but when it's in I would love to hear your feedback.
Really great story. The playful love of the two spirits is adorable. I'm not a fan of these types of puzzle games but I still blew threw the whole game just to see the story. 4-5 was by far the hardest level though, and after that the other levels were a cake walk.
Also, the thief class beats the slayer class hands down for damage output, because slayers gain fewer stats on each node, meaning thieves get more attack AND more speed, not even mentioning the amazing buffs like Quicken. Finally, I feel you should put the damage calculations of skills in the game so we make more informed decisions. Example: "Bash - Does damage equal to 150% of character's physical attack and stuns target." "Fire Attack - Does damage equal to 100% of character's physical attack + 100% of character's magical attack, with the fire element".
Items like the monocle, mirror, etc that can't be upgraded aren't very useful. Which is better: a minuscule chance to avoid physical attacks, or guaranteed damage reduction from the shield? A small additional crit chance, or more raw power from gauntlets? Also, is it possible to get more than one circlet in the game? And will it ever be possible t choose what skills and stats a character gains instead of having a single, unbranching path for every class?
Are what skills a character gains random or based on the character? I noticed Dragon gains Fire Attack and Kaz gains Lightning Attack, and Mari keeps learning Earth and Quake spells when I'd rather have Lightning and Storm. I think characters should be able to choose some spells (and thus make the skill nodes have more of a strategic impact). Also the elemental attacks (Fire Attack, etc) suck, because Bash is 100% better--does more damage with less mana! If the elemental attacks scaled with both physical and magic power together, it would make a hybrid build seem a lot more viable.
@Matacro That's the point. You're allowed to make any character fit any role. Want Lina to be a wizard? She can. Want Mari to give up magic and be a heavy hitter with physical attacks? She can. And for that reason, every character can get a weapon for any given primary stat.
The good: Gameplay and story are simplistic but still better than may JRPGs I've payed real money for. Graphics are nice, character building is fun and takes some planning ahead. The bad: Needs some 'convenience' fixes like other players have said. The bosses are too easy, dying in a few hits while barely doing any damage, and I am NOT a heavy grinder, though I have planned my upgrades wisely. Trickster class is sadly kinda lame because normal enemies die fast and bosses resist status afflictions. The ugly: The fishing mini game. I just can't stand it.
Worth beating for the story alone. While the game mechanics, story, etc are nothing that we haven't seen before, the execution is good and it makes for a pleasant, quick little diversion. 5/5
I don't see what all the griping is about. It's not a GREAT game but it's nowhere near the worst game to end up 'featured'. It still beats all the pay-to-win "MMOs" and stuff for sure.
"OMG THERE'S A FIRE IN THE BUILDING LETS LOG ON TO OUR COMPUTERS !!!"
In today's age of Twitter and Facebook being on cell phones, doesn't that seem pretty accurate to how people are in real life?
This is my philosophy as well, my intent for the upcoming update is to create a tutorial that will not require any "sitting through", but when it's in I would love to hear your feedback.
