This game is under the delusion that it's a puzzle game, which leads to the unfortunate inclusion of hostage levels. This game is at its best when it's 'click and see what happens' random destructo-gratifyer. The notion that there is a forseeable outcome to which pixel you click on is silly, so making the player save people just distracts from the fun of breaking stuff.
I really like the recent updates... except scaling move speed items don't scale well. Eventually it comes to a point where I'm desperately trying to get my team to stop moving so fast so that second-based healing and resurrection abilities have time to be useful between combats.
I'm imagining the situation and it sounds hilarious. Well you can always use other kind of equipment. But yeah, I'm thinking on nerfing the movespeed scale
Bad choice of control keys for right handed people. CTRL/X for the boost button negates the otherwise functional WAD controls which are ideal given the fact that the right hand is needed for the mouse to navigate menus. The X key is difficult to hold because your index finger needs quick access to the D key. The CTRL key is terrible because CTRL+W is a shortcut to close tabs in chrome. Only option left for a standard keyboard set up is to control with the right hand using the arrow keys and awkwardly switch the right hand between the arrow keys and the mouse to navigate menues.
Very fun game. I had a minor, but very annoying sound glitch after beating second boss though, some of the buzzing sounds from his demise got stuck on loop. Turning off sound and music didn't help so I had to refresh.
Good game. Obviously needs more variety, which the Dev has acknowledged. Particularly, would like some non-combat challeges to break it up a little. Puzzles, hidden treasure, switches, etc. Also the weapon switching keys should be mentioned, if not in game than atleast in the kongregate instructions box. Also hate it when a browser game uses my mouse wheel. I use that for scripty-scrolling the web page.
Good game, but I left it frustrated. I'm at 96% complete, but with all relevant upgrades I cannot come close to beating the 2 star challenge on level 7. It just comes down to skill using that annoying boulder which I seem to lack.
I made this video specially for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sgg4qUWsuKM
Maximize your soldiers skills, and focus your boulder on shielders and other special units. Use flash strike only if a group of shielders engaged in close combat. That's all. By the way, I'll update the game in 1 hour, and will shorten the reaction radius of those two soldiers - so that they will not rush as soon as they see the enemy.
Whatever shadow demons, darkness lice, and sewer anuses they threw at me... I always took some comfort in knowing that I had a hammer... losing it was the scariest moment for me..
Good game. I played mainly as the werewolf, and I found his super move to scale poorly. In the beginning stage usually the cheaper power move is better than transforming because it insta-kills all the weak enemies, while the transformation makes you run around and do it manually. In the second stage the transformation is better because a lot of the enemies have enough health to survive the weaker attack. However in the third stage all of the acid, and powerful enemy projectiles make the transformation a lot less valuable as it doesn't offer protection and by then your guns are doing about as much damage as your claws. So 2/3 levels, the more expensive power attack actually seems much less useful than the cheap one. That's kinda lame. Could be fixed by giving the transformation defensive/regen properties, or just including a free frenzy like the cheaper power move with the transformation.
Nice graphics, poor controls. The only control scheme more annoying than one that makes you press weird buttons like j/k/l instead of using a mouse is one that also makes you take your hands off those weird buttons to use your mouse to click through menus. WASD/space bar/left click should be more than adequate here
Great game. 5/5. My one complaint is the dialogue feels sloppy or poorly translated. Given the otherwise high production quality, it stands out. Each character seems to have a personality trying to emerge, but the amateurish dialogue holds them back.
Very good game. The intro when you open a new dungeon should be click to skip or much faster. Also I find numerous bugs related to enemy's negative status effects lasting too long (after they die, after I remove the effect, etc). Also once the barbarian's ability that does equal damage to all colors lasted 1 round too long as well.
Given the originality I'm going to be very picky about the execution: solid except for the levels with an unnecessary rush before a star disappears. that adds no fun and no challenge, it just forces me to restart constantly while I solve the puzzle.
Look in the field journal!
