Well, made it past lvl 120 only to discover that I will not be able to progress further unless I have three friends who have logged into the game within the past 3 days. The game mechanics are great, but the energy system and basically every other aspect of the game is awful.
Well I have made it to lvl 86 without needing to purchase gems, but I am certain I won't be getting any further. I like the game and I generally don't mind games that utilize energy systems as long as they are implemented in a reasonable manner. However, I have never seen a game that so blatantly attempts to force players to pay by limiting energy as this game does. The further you progress the more energy it costs for each attempt. Maximum energy is capped at 20, yet by level 60 it costs 4 energy per attempt. With an energy cap that low, at least make energy regeneration a bit more forgiving. Regenerating 1 energy per 10 minutes is ridiculous. Also having the treasure chest rewards for contain nothing but useless gold coins after level 80 is also a bit irritating considering how difficult it becomes to earn those keys.
It seems to be impossible to meet demands for medicine without running short on some other resource (usually food). Once you buy medicine factory, demand for food shoots up followed by a increase in population growth (which seems backwards). The population growth then results in even greater demand for medicine. No matter what I tried, I always ended up leaving medicine factory at or below 25% because above that is too unstable.
Personally, I find the early game progresses a bit too slowly. More specifically, too much time spent sitting and staring at number at the start until you first can afford tool maker. Basically just buy a farm, wait, buy another farm, wait, repeat until you have enough unemployed not farming and buy another woodcutter. Things move a bit better once you have the tool maker. Also found that medicine made my population nearly impossible to balance. Medicine would cause a population boom that would be unsustainable.
getting tired of dragging single units around. Need to be able to either drag multiple units at once or have some way of ordering troops to advance or fall back.
I loved the original Dillo Hills because it was a fun and even somewhat relaxing game to play. This multiplayer is just frustrating. I get hit with bombs or some other attack every two or three jumps, which completely ruins the flow of the game. Need a race without stupid attacks.
Hey, thanks for trying the game out! The first level pack is going to include some "zen" levels where there are no attack items, for players who prefer to play without interruptions! [-fex]
Am I the only one that is incapable of dodging the lvl 30 boss's hammers or are other people in the same boat? I seem to always end up moving to where the hammers are going to land rather than avoiding them. I don't know if it has something to do with the twirling animation when they are thrown or if my brain is just screwy when it comes this particular aspect of the game, but it is driving me nuts.
Thank you for your comment. I'm still balancing the game and updating it.
