Jul 18, 2011 9:57am Hey what about adding the highscore API to your 100th game (yeah I know countless jokes may be made with that title)? People would appreciate it, good game anyway! :)

I’ve tried killing everyone, no one, I even managed to bring a key through to the portal zone by rushing the child, but I can’t seem to find a way of keeping the old man alive or getting there in time. It seems to suffer from the same problem I have when I make a game or a scenario in an editor sometimes, which is that there is a solution which is really easy for every problem, but it’s not intuitive. For instance when you’re in ?ol you have to get to the other side of a bunch of pillars, but a normal jump doesn’t get you there. What I’d do if I had Alus is reverse my facing and pause when I was just below the horizontal axis of the platform, but I can’t. The solution is simple- just don’t hold up as much; but considering that you just had no less than 20 puzzles which involved jamming your finger down on the “Up” button, this seems a bit counter-intuitive. Still, I’ve had situations where I genuinely thought it was irrational for my testers NOT to compulsively possess any invulnerable unit they came across to see if they could. There are a bunch of like illogical solutions in it which mainly are needed due to the way you setup the controls. It is familiar, but until you get used to it, hard to use. I think it would be nice if you added much less red to the palette for the art. Making references to blood and skeletons is very obvious but black sprays and weird monsters with black eyes makes it far less easy to pigeonhole. I was using a monitor that filtered red for a little while, and it looked amazing. I know you did it in a week, but I felt I might as well make a few little points. An explanation for why you can run through skeletons would be nice too. show less |
