I like it, but as other people have stated, there needs to be more things you can spend gold on since it rapidly becomes pretty useless once you have 1-2 weapons (Staff, Sword and Board) that you can work with. Could Have another vendor that allows you to buy specific upgrades to your abilities (longer Black Hole ability, or shorter cooldowns, or a bigger radius....things like that), so you gotta think long an' hard before swapping to a different weapon 'cause you don't have the upgrades put into THOSE specials.
Also wouldn't hate to see a Boss Rush after, say, 10 runs or so? 5+ difficulty, gives you more XP or Monies or whatever.
Enjoyable, but maxed out all level skills pretty easily because staves are busted (fire-rate eventually had double-shots, AND the Black Hole to keep groups locked in), and didn't really feel the need to even LOOK at other weapons.
Biggest problem about this game is that you don't have any real offline "progress", you just gain more points that you gotta spend while online. If you were gaining DNA, then it'd be great; instead, you're gaining something that lets you gain DNA faster, in theory? But I'm not interested in checking back in after a day or too, just to find out that I gotta grind longer.
Yo, couple of thoughts: I would LOVE it if you could cast Freeze on enemies that aren't attacking you (yet), but still have the HP-regen boost, 'cause, I mean, it's never REALLY game-breaking (believe me I tried), and that lil' extra HP boost would speed up the earlier-section grinds.
Y'know, having a "Sprinkler" that you could position onto rocks, that would increase Diamonds gained or damage done, would be very helpful. Also, some sort of monetary-gain-per-second for each plant.
Is it weird that I kinda hope/wish that there is some sort of super-boss at the end of, like, Wave 5000? Like....a rival Portal, that is constantly spewing the enemies you're fighting, and you have to be able to clear through them just to be able to damage it?
(Not that I'm hoping for an end to the game, I just like the idea of a super-duper boss somewhere down the line.)
Hey Drumboardist, there will be more ways of collecting boxes in future updates. This will hopefully counteract the problem of being unable to collect some boxes.
Yo, I love how you're continually keeping up with the criticism that people toss at you (here in the comments).
Having said that, can we PLEASE get a Shift + Click option for forging/keys? 'cause those rebuilds, after prestiging, are pretty lengthy and annoying. (Also also, I loved some of the previous Aspects boots that you had -- adding to damage, minus to HP, or +skill points, or -damage, +attack speed -- so if you had, like, six or nine options to pick from, that'd be great.)
It's a great game so far, and I love that you're working with the fans to make a better experience for us. Keep it up!
Thank you very much I'm really glad you enjoyed so far. Every feedback is a great way to improve myself and the game :)
I'll add shift+click function as soon as possible for crafting.
I really feel like we should be able to use Wood to upgrade our Ballistas, Stone for....I'unno, fire-speed or something....and Iron for....also something? Some other generic upgrade for out weaponry. Y'know, so we either save up to unlock something neat, *or* we can make our current weaponry better.
Love the game, would like to see a lot more to it. Is a fine "beta", but give us new locations with new dragons! Or let the possibility of under-levelled Dragons fail to protect their Princesses, so you can go to re-capture them! And then we have to worry about swapping dragons back and forth, so it's semi-idle, semi-action-oriented, and we can have different pairings of different Princesses.....ooh, and different terrains with different enemies when you're on the defense!
I liked it, is what I'm sayin'.
Fun fact, you can run the first stage a couple of times right outta the gate, since "Johnny Jambo" will appear each time, and you'll get 3k+ very quickly and easily. Need a quick jump on the game, and don't feel like trying to get by with that MP5/Mini-Revolver combo for the next couple of stages? Don't! 2 rounds, get a Deagle, the damage is obscene.
(Or just save up for the AK and you're good for most of the game. Also get the Deagle, though, 'cause why not.)
Thoughts:
Riot-shield dude is good, but if you need a warm body, then the pistol guy (with x3 into "cheaper cost) is someone that'll get the job done long enough to get the REAL tank of the game -- the Pyro -- up and running.
Shotgunner and...frankly, most of the classes, are useless. Pyro #1, Chain-Gun #2, Yellow-Eyes #3 (solid damage + AoE on the straight line + range), Sniper #4, and you don't need anyone else. (5th slot should *always* be an el-cheapo pistol guy, in case you don't have enough to by more units).
So....relying on the cheapest unit possible, and spamming abilities, to get enough money, to employ units that AREN'T garbage? Not a great setup. (Also, everyone that said the fights take too long? 100% true. Either tune up our damage, or drop bosses' HP down please. And yeah, it's also too slow in general; we need an x1/x2/x4 speedup thingy, and the ability to sell units we don't want/need any more.)
I don't understand your clues, after 3 tries, in the tutorial? "Oh, he's in this room." Okay, but...what makes him be in THIS room though? I keep failing, and am annoyed. This isn't a good tutorial.
After some quality/animation options, I'm thinking about add new boss system.
