lack of skill rest + max level = dumb
I can understand having a max level (though it should be higher, 20...) but no skill reset? This game isn't fun enough for me to play through the entire thing again if i mess up my skill points...
Interesting concept, with some fine tuning could be a very successful game. I agree that the controls were a little too lose in the wrong ways and I also feel that the collision detection could be cleaned up a bit more, especially with the electricity. Also, is challenge level 7 even possible? I beat the game and the first 6 challenge levels. On the 7th challenge level I get the feeling that the last jump you need to make to get to the door is impossible. You can't get over the electricity to use your momentum to get up to the next pad with out hitting your head and falling into the electricity below. Has anyone beaten challenge level 7 that could send me a message explaining what I'm doing wrong?
I don't know what's going on.... but every time I try to start a battle in campaign it's simply not responding. I choose my celles for my team and hit battle and nothing occurs. Why!?!! RAWR
I'd like to see a comprehensive list of an explanation of what all the different commands in the thought editor do. I'm a programmer, so this game could become very enjoyable to me. I just don't have the time, currently, to sit around and figure out what each command does. If there is already a comprehensive list of explanations of all the different basic functions, could someone point me in the right direction?
Perrin3088, that's because it's designed to be as such. It's coded with a genetic algorithm so that muscle expansion/contraction cycles which result in moving to the left are considered wrong and to the right, faster are good
@cothofrocks, there is a save function.... you can disable the auto-saving and save whenever you see fit and use the self-destruct when you don't like what happened and then just load.
Fun game, kind of wish there was more, though. Definitely would suggest to the creator of this game that they absorb a bunch of these concepts and try to turn it into an online version, possibly. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy that, if it was done correctly.
Cool game, could be evolved into something much greater, though. I think you should keep working with this concept and turn it into something far more detailed and persistent.
All gold :P
All you really have to do is find a tile that touches as many other tiles as possible in such a manner that you can determine, with out a doubt, that the other tiles have to be whatever color. Usually this tile is somewhere around the middle. Once you find it, pick a random color. Then look for a tile that is touching this first tile and another tile that is also touching the first tile. Pick a color for that, it can't be the same as the color you picked for the first tile, obviously. Then the third tile which is touching both, must obviously take on the third color. Continue with this pattern and you can get all gold stars. When you encounter a situation that can't be solved by this method, it's usually because you NEED 4 colors... and you'll get the gold star anyway :P
Incredible game. I had a lot of ideas based around something similar but this brings together so many things and tells a lovely story. I commend you. This game has a lot of potential to become even greater if you wanted it to.
It doesn't seem to be poorly coded from what I could tell, didn't run into any bugs. Problem is.. the game play was shoddy. Seems like an okay generic rpg/platformer idea... very linear though. Combat was flawed in the fact that you can only do simple attacks, attacking stops you. You can't really combo anything very fluidly. One of the second boss' attacks can't really be avoided, the meteor thing with out just getting lucky (from what I can tell). I quit playing from boredom. Not a terrible game, doesn't need to be completely scrapped. It would be nice if the game play was just made a little smoother and maybe if you allowed for some variation in some of the abilities by combining them through timing combos and movements. Like jumping and using the slash or timing a stab and then a stun to make them act more fluidly or something.
You can also use the charge + attack jump combo. Though it seems to be less effective when you raise attack jump a lot lol.
Beat Insane mode with out putting any points into any of the melee skills (1 into charge, 1 into attack jump, and 1 into teleport. none of which i used..) I simply put a ton of points into magic, getting my spell speed and spell damage up to almost 400%.
