I think a good feature would be unique buildings for each of the factions. I think it would make people play more of a faction before moving on to the next.
I love this game, fun and a nice twist on the other Decision games, but only one problem: I prefer to play my games on mute, so I can listen to other music in the background. On the loading screens for the missions, the music starts back up again. If you could fix that, this game would go from 4.9 to a 5 in my book.
(One of the first names I get is "Black Death") Woo, that name kicks ass, I want that! (Accidentally hits the randomize button again) FFFFFFF-
But yeah, if I had to suggest a change, make the naming non-randomized. Like, have a drop-down list for the first and second part of the name, not just have it randomly select one for you.
I enjoy games like this, but the problem is that your energy replenishes way too slowly. "Replenish now for 10 Favor Points or wait 14 hours for a full refill!" Seriously.
I really wish I could close my store to the public for a few in-game days in order to restock. Instead I just let customers in anyway while I'm doing nothing but restocking, turning them away immediately if I can't give them something I have an excess of anyway.
I've always loved Roy as a character, as weird as it sounds. He's the only one of the Papa's employees that seems to not like his work, and not only at first. In all the other Papa's games, in the opening cutscene they look upset at having to work, but nowhere else. Here, every time he opens the store, he looks like he's thinking "Another day..." Makes me feel bad for him. Hope in a later game he gets the leading roll again. (hinthint)
Alright, here's an idea for your next game, Flipline: Papa's Streeteria. The premise is that Roy finally has his hard work paid off and is promoted to a partner of the Papa's franchise...only for Papa to tell him he's now in charge of a street made of all the previous restaurants, because as we all know, Papa's kind of a jerk who makes others do his work. So, you'd get to play any of the restaurants you want. The ones you don't work in for the day would generate money, but wouldn't level up customers or unlock toppings. I think it'd be fun.
My wishlist for a sequel for this (which you should do, because this game is great) goes like this:
1. Allow for selling excess ore.
2. More types of weaponry (daggers, perhaps?)
3. Buyable upgrades to the cannonballs. It gets frustrating to only heal a little bit at a time.
Not to spoil anything for people, but I'm proud of this game. It takes a lot to be able to reference your other games without it seeming pretentious. And by this I of course mean the final upgrade for the potion. I was screaming "YEEEEEES" when I got to smash everything as Burrito Bison.
The things I have learned from this game:
Having a permanent lover when 17 is okay.
Eating an assload of chocolate can only make me happy.
Other women are all trying to steal my man.
Remaining single has barely any benefit.
You know what Flipline should do? Hold a contest for what the next Papa's Restaurant will be. Like, people enter ideas and the idea that's picked gets a cameo in-game as a customer or something. Just in case they do this, my idea is Papa's Sandwicharia.
Anyway, here's some advice for people in general. Try to get your upgrades in this order: Treasure chest, cannons, sails, bombs, flag. Get your starting cash up to a point where you can afford the best treasure chest off the bat, because you'll need the money. Get the sails before the second boss, maneuverability is a necessity on that one. Leave the flag for last, because it gives only minor upgrades across the board, and since it's more expensive, it'll drain you of cash without benefiting you too much.
Love it, but one complaint: PLEASE let me turn the music entirely off instead of just /mostly/ off. I like listening to other things while I play games.
Here's my advice: If you're starting to panic, look at other stuff and type whatever comes to mind. I look at the guy in the corner and get all sorts of words. Collar, tie, button, eye, ear, mouth...
Gain a level or use a boost from your Mob for a quick refill.
