Some clever puzzles. They weren't immediately obvious, but I got there in the end without any significant trouble. Cute game. Merry Christmas & happy holidays to everyone!
I just started the game, and I must say, I love the small details you put in. I thought that the mechanic where food wasn't increasing even though production was higher than demand was a bug, until I read some comments and realized food can spoil. It would be nice if you could explain these little mechanics in a "help" menu or something in-game so people don't think these are bugs.
I notice a slight lag spike about every 5 seconds. I'm presuming this is the game saving since it's writing ~73kB (also the size of my save file) every time this spike hits. I completely understand it if you can't optimize the saving process any more than you have already, but would it be possible to give us the option to save less often?
Decent game. It could use some more content, but the content it does have seems quite polished and well made. I'm looking forward to seeing what updates you have planned for the future!
Question / Suggestion: Why the limit on changing her mood? I feel like it would be better if you could only change it one time per day or something instead of a hard limit.
We don't have a dedicated time server to allow us to set a time restricted limit. People could literally just change their system time to bypass the limit unfortunately so we had to go with another route.
It would be nice if the "sell all" buttons only affected the items you're currently filtering. For example, if you're only looking at armors, the "sell all white" button shouldn't sell any weapons, even if they're white.
I like the idea of mine stability since it forces us to not mine rocks at an unrealistic rate; however, I don't like not knowing how "stable" the mine is. The random noise of rocks falling is ok (somewhat surprising at times), but I would like having a better indication of how stable the mine is. It could be a progress bar somewhere, or it could also be as simple as some text that says stuff like, "The mine is looking pretty good right now," or, "There appear to be small cracks forming in the walls." Just something to give a better indication of the state of the mine other than "it's fine" or "someone's about to die."
Thank you very much for all the hard work you're putting into this game! It's really fun and ranks at the top of the tons of idle games I've played. These updates are only making it better, and I'm really looking forward to all the new content you have planned for the future. I wish you good luck!
Two things: One, could you make it so that when you buy a boat from a town, it destroys any boat previously bought at that shop? Or just destroy all your boats upon death? It's bugging me to see a bunch of boats that I can't use anymore. And two: Please let enemies respawn after a while. There needs to be some way to farm for xp/gold besides waiting.
Whenever I go to the map screen, the GPU usage on my computer spikes. I don't see why this should happen, as there aren't that many images on that screen that I can see.
Why did you make the screen so tall? I'd really prefer to not have to scroll up and down on my browser window in order to navigate this game, and zooming out is just horrible as the text becomes too small to read. Why not add different tabs and cut down on the window size like other games?
In the early game, I can see the micromanagement system being useful as it currently stands; however, for it to have a practical application in the mid and late game, it will need some kind of upgrades associated with it. All the upgrades that you have mentioned so far seem like a great addition, but my only concern is that you shouldn't allow this feature to become overpowered in response to the negative feedback from your community. By the way, on a little side-note, the rate at which that anger bar fills is quite inconsistent- it seems to like to suddenly jolt forward at seemingly random times. I'm uncertain if this is intended or a bug, but I would prefer if it were to fill at a constant rate. It's easier to get it up near the max that way. It also won't allow you to micromanage that business if it's currently cooling down, which is another minor annoyance at times.
I don't like the micromanagement system as it is in the current version (1.4.6). The manager gets angry too fast and it takes too long for them to cool down. All you do is hold down a button for 1 or 2 seconds, go on to another button, and repeat- I would much rather spend my time doing anything else. Besides, it's not all that effective. It speeds up production 10x for about 1.5 seconds on average (assuming you hold the button down for as long as you can), then it takes 25 seconds to cool down. So, assuming you're doing everything perfectly, that's still only 55% more cash per second than what you would get if you were completely idle. Also, if you happen to accidentally hold it down for too long, you get about 23% less cash per second, not including the cash spent to rehire the manager. So, to me, this feature is currently useless and needs to be buffed significantly.
Thanks very much for your feedback. I just tweaked the values a bit to see if it's more appealing. Let us know what you think - this feature will definitely require some fine tuning until it works / feels right.
I've got the NaN bug on enemy health. I also experienced what I believe to be a bug right before that. What I did was I sent a fleet of a few tier 1 ships to conquer a planet in my home solar system, but at the start of the battle, it immediately said "-99%" and some sort of an image was displayed behind it. Then the enemy killed me in one shot. So, I made a fleet of tier 2 ships, went back to that planet, tried to conquer it again, and I got the NaN health bug on the last enemy there. The -99% thing was still there as well, but it didn't one shot me like last time. As a temporary fix, could you add something to the game that checks if something is NaN, and if so, set it to be more of a reasonable value?
Please, make a pastebin of your save and send it to me in PM. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience! :P
