This is a really amazing game. Even though I still can't beat the final boss, I will get it eventually.
On my last attempt I managed to beat his first form, and then struggled my way through his second form. I had no mana on any of my characters except my elementalist/healer, and all characters were near death due to Judgment when I beat his second form. Then I saw that he had a THIRD form and my heart sank lol... I will get him eventually.
DO. NOT. PICK UP THE HAMBURGER. It makes you "feel sick" and after you save the game there is no way to reverse it. It affects the "mood" bar of your date, effectively killing your 100% completion chance.
"and the crazy guy turned on a big laser. the laser grew and melted the whole world. then it grew more and melted the universe. now nobody wins. i hope you're happy."
I just wanted to see the other endings. ;-;
SPOILER ALERT: Was kinda surprised at how you could dig through lava... everything seemed to have a little bit of realism up until that point. I also found it cool that the gravity changed so that you couldn't dig further than the center of the earth.
Some parts of the game are very exploitable. Against the normal mode Ancient Evil, I was able to barricade my Shadow behind my other two comrades, and he would constantly revive them at no cost, while the other two whittled him down. Even on a level against 3 big goblins, I was able to use this barricade, and the goblins would walk around aimlessly because there was no way to reach my Shadow. Also, all of the healing spells, and even potions that you have are very lackluster.
Other than that, this is a really fun game. Class mechanics is something I really like in a game, gives you some choice between them. The Shadow is my personal favorite, I ran with 2 Shadows (Mojo and a custom Shadow of my own) and a Cleric.
The only thing I found a little weird about this game is on part 2/7 of Variables and Math. In the question, it takes you to take a guess and scroll down. I entered "7", which wasn't the actual answer even though it was correct. So I lost some of my health for that. :P
Fun game, but there should be a higher difficulty. Perhaps a hard difficulty that removes checkpoints? It just seemed easy that whenever I died to the boss it would respawn me halfway through the fight.
@Joshtheme You don't get the point of this game. It's not a regular puzzle game, it tells a story. The point of this game is to read the story and watch it unfold as you save each person. The game's name "no-one has to die" comes from the end of the story, where the Visitor ends up in the same universe as every other survivor. At that point, each person know all the security codes and no-one has to die.
Great game, but I found that the old men can set off an alarm after they see you, but after you slip into the shadows or another room. I'm glad it was fixed in the sequel.
Baron is tough even when you are biological. I gave my medic a ton of instinct and he just can't outheal the Tick Tock debuff.
Maybe I should be removing it lol............... derp.
