Why do so many flash developers just slap on absurdly hard levels at the end of their games? Making a hard game is fine, ignoring the difficulty curve in level design is not.
The controls are way too loose for the level of precision the game expects of you. Between that and the seizure inducing visuals, everything about this game screams "artificial difficulty."
$7000 for first place and $5000 for dead last? I've never seen a racing game with such wonky scaling on the prize money. What's even the incentive to place first?
Unless there's something huge I'm overlooking, levels 28, 32, 36 and 39 are impossible to beat under the current time. Even taking what seems to be the fastest route in these levels, I'm 10 seconds or more over the target time.
The controls just randomly stop working on me at the beginning of levels. It's not a freeze because I can still mute with "M". Happens with newest Flash Player, on both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Is this only happening to me or what? I see no comments at all like this. Can't play the game as it is now.
For the hard badge keep in mind you only need to beat 6 out of 7 bonus levels. I wasted so much time trying to beat "The Killing Floor" before I realized this. You'd think I'd have learned to always read badge descriptions thoroughly by this point.
Oddly enough using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox fixed the input lag for me. Usually it's the other way around. Unfortunately the "Beat the tenth level" achievement is bugged so 100% percent isn't currently possible.
The forest levels work fine for me, but all the butchery levels have crazy random input lag for me. A shame since I like the game, and want to try the butchery levels on reverse and hardcore, but there's zero chance of that happening as it is now.
Obvious memory leak needs to be fixed. Most memory leaks I've run into aren't too crippling to a game, maybe requiring a refresh every hour or so. But this game starts getting leak lag after a few minutes.
The main complaint against the previous DuckLife games was the excessive grinding. So the game developers response to this is to release another sequel with even more grinding than ever? Seriously? This should not have gotten badges, regardless of the overly inflated rating.
The last two Alien levels are way too unforgiving compared to the rest of the game. There's pretty much no room for error. One of the more difficult hard badges from my experience.
Getting a good run is way too dependent on getting a gold voucher or two early on, since often they simply don't show up. Also it's possible to encounter two dragons in a row, which really needs to be tweaked. Seeing as you basically need an elixir or divine edge to beat one, it's an unavoidable game over if that happens.
Parting Gift + Peasant spam easily beats any level, and without the massive lag you get from trying to beat it normally. This game has potential, but it currently has too many problems keeping it from being a good game.
It's funny that the enemy difficulty scales based on the floor you're on, but the bosses don't. So on floors 100+ the enemies are like 20x stronger than the boss. Enemies HP bars don't even fit on the screen after around 100 either. Despite all that, you can pretty much fight every enemy on the floor at once at that point, since the further you go, the further the gap between you and the enemy gets. Floors 1-15 are the hardest part of the game, so the hard badge was well chosen.
Second to get the impossible badge I think. :) I'm glad this game got badged, I thought for sure it was going to be passed over because of the somewhat low rating. People are too afraid of difficulty in games these days.
I really hate the lasers. Too often a laser is in a position where you can't get a coin in time without running through the laser, which of course breaks your combo anyway. If your combo wasn't broken from missing a coin or if the lasers were just removed then this game would be perfect.
I'm kinda surprised this is only a medium badge. There are many badged puzzle games easier than this that give a hard badge for completion. Or maybe I'm just terrible at math. :P Anyway, it's a fun game.
We fixed those records. =)
