I never even bought a weapon or armour, just upgrades, and I won. I know it's a shorter game, but it made me feel like I missed out. Don't take that criticism too harshly though, it's a great game. It was very fun.
Wow. I just one with one barrier and four mine fields super easily. Nothing can get through except in the very beginning when your mines are still rising for the first time.
Sorry to contradict Kasic, but you never have to use anything other than spread machine gun or trishot, damage boosters, and a shield. Save up to upgrade your machine gun damage a couple times then its rate of fire. Shields can't handle it and no other weapon has decent dps.
I had to make three runs including the gold from the last run in order to max my castle after getting gold on every stage. Trust me, just go T, gob, Gol, H, 4 gob, Gol, H, 2 gob.
The best setup is Turtle, 1 goblin, Golem, Healer, 4 goblins, golem, healer, 2 goblins. Sometimes this setup turns into two turtles in the front, but that is the only deviation. You can get gold on all levels, getting 50 raids in the last few levels, with your castle not even fully upgraded.
My issue is that anything but barracks generally isn't a good idea. I love the game though. I rushed everything with optimally increasing my barracks as fast as I could. I think I only built a lab once, and I for sure never built a fortress.
There is a bug I found. On level 5, sometimes when I jump off the second platform and teleport onto the other platform, I get stuck and can't jump until I let go of my directional button. I think I'm teleporting into the wall a little?
