Ah yes.. the spot the difference influx of games back in 2010.. I didn't like them much but they had nice stories the problem raised when they made too many of those and people lost interest in playing those anymore. it's better than the 2020 shut down at least :(.
The story reminds me of a Phoenix Wright case there's no way the author didn't play those before making a detective game, so props on the reference to that case it's definitely one of the best cases in the PW series.
I enjoyed the game quite a bit was interesting with decent puzzles, not too hard but managed to solve it alone.
but there are a few things that I noticed:
1. Is the full game on stream? cause there's no indication about what is the full game, for a web game honestly it has a nice length.
2.point and click games try to avoid game progressing hidden objects, I found myself looking for a walk-through only for the location of the last grub.
3.there are 3 clues that are not used on the demo: the one below the clock, the notes from the old sound device and "67", they might be misleading specially if I happened to unlock the last room before I finished the music sequence, those are the red herrings if you have been looking for what people meant.
Also there's a problem that you can't access the menu after you start the game so you can't mute the game and load/save.
Hey, thanks for taking time into giving us feedback! The game is not on steam yet but if we manage to pull of kick-starter maybe October will be the release month.Ah, that last grub(curious to see what was the last grub for you because to some it might be not the last one). Some of your described red herrings are indeed part of the full game but because the game is not linear they show up in the demo. If you played full-screen mode then you have to pres ESC two times to get the menu again. :) Thanks for playing!
pros:
-nice little Metrovenia simulator nicely designed in concept.
-the power progression seems alright
-simulates the best part of the game genre which is exploration and gaining powers along the way.
cons:
-didn't knew I could scroll the map with my mouse until the very end (lack of tutorial or indication)
-the font is atrocious, it's unreadable.
-The level of English might be poor (you are win? didn't read most of the game cause of the poor font choice).
I really liked the game concept 5/5 easily (you don't need 3D amazing graphics to make a good game) it's also not as long as I thought it would be and there aren't really any hard walls..
Initially I thought it was an idle game but luckily it seems not to be.. One point of feedback is that the dark caves just feel bad there's no strategy except taking only potions or being quick enough to grasp all the -s and +s, would suggest making the downside of that you have a miss chance so you would want more agi in those areas.
Also would like some variety between nodes of the same area they are all the same and it's quite disappointing, I liked the no healing zones encourages strategy.
Thanks for the feedback! Yep even though the game has autocombat, it's not to make it idle, but rather to shift the core gameplay to loot decisions and management. Trying to come up with interesting zones was a challenge, I didn't want to just have combat effects happen in them and see what I could do outside that box. The caves ended up being a mechanic to force even quicker reactions and a bit on theme. With a full version of this game I'd like to not only have more zone and map effects, but variety in nodes as well. You're right on that one, I actually have it that way only because I wanted to save dev time so I hope to revisit that one as well!
5/5, maybe add a hint how many coins you need to pass a level? or is it intentional so you play it more until you get it? really fun game completed it 100% has just the right amount of levels and it gets just enough complex.
Played the steam version not gonna play it again it gave it 5/5 to support the devs more, I am not sure if the extra dungeons are available on this version but I recommend you to buy on steam anyway. one of my favorite game franchises.
I didn't like the game at all, I gave it a bit of a try but there are too many problems for me to like it..
There is a severe lack of tooltips I have no idea what gathering does, what a leader means, what I need to do to win, and how each status affects the settlement(I mean the top right buttons).
What does forest even do? the terraforming aspect seem fun but there are 2 problems: the cursor isn't really clear where you stand, and you don't know how it affects anything, ye I know it's a 8 years old game and it won't change.. 2/5 anyway.
Amazing game, really nice idea as potential to be better of course with also removing /adding pieces like in other rogue likes with decks Slay the spire, dicey dungeons etc. rogue likes are always interesting.. of course this game is in a small scale but the idea is quite amazing.
oh final boss nice.. how to beat him.. ok I hit him.. oh he is dead.. wish it was a longer fight should have at least 3 hit points and some patterns... oh well good luck on the next installment.
The artstyle of your games is very... unique I don't know if I like it or not though, anyway I liked the game, specially the story which is told without any words.
