All these random unplayable MMOs this week are gonna guarantee a lot of people don't get a shiny. That awful "game" from Tuesday is back again tomorrow.
Mildly addictive when you get games with good draws (my 5th win was so dead even the entire time that going first is probably why I won), but most of my games, win or loss, were horrible and over very early because there's a lack of balance. I had an opponent steal a builder, soldier, and mage from me within 10 turns in one game and just sat there waiting to die afterwards.
This is a luck based game that pretends to be a strategy game, and the medium badge takes a while to get. I advise caution if you're the type that gets easily frustrated.
The game becomes much simpler once you realize that time doesn't matter and dying doesn't matter. Just take out the airports ASAP so your carrier doesn't die. (I have no idea what this does, but I assume it fails the mission).
Be prepared even with the most optimal setup to restart the third day repeatedly for the hard badge. The Hatchback is terrible at moving the crates and it's entirely a matter of luck how far you push them. You'll get between 990-999 many times before it actually pushes through.
This game is irredeemable for two reasons... One is the damage is incredibly random, and later in the game it gets worse. You'll suddenly take over 50% damage in one hit from a guy that normally does a pittance, and the damage you and your hirelings do seems to vary just the same on the enemies. The other issue is the mounted units, which take far too long to kill and easily murder your hirelings. You basically have to reload some maps so you don't get spammed by the wrong unit types. There's no consistency to any of it
Yeah, this is a really easy hard badge. You don't even need the weapon/armor upgrades (I had two of the bosses dead before I even had access to them). This probably didn't take 30 minutes.
As tempting as it is to stay in corners, I found doing that is a good way to consistently end up around 150 - You just get trapped too easily when there's more balls because your movement is too restricted. My tip would be to stay as centered as possible and focus on micro-movements. It gives you the most range to escape incoming balls and it's much less likely you get trapped. My first time doing it that way resulted in 240 points.
I found this to be a pretty quick game for a runner. Lag was never an issue at all, and it took me maybe 40 minutes to clear the game. My upgrades were not maxed.
Tip for 24: Lasers with affliction and acid attached make the level trivially easy. For Atropos, used Plamsa+Split+3 Splash and 1 Weaken... I'm not sure the weaken actually did anything, but the damage racks up fast. Getting through the first 20 waves in survival unscathed is easier than beating the 3rd boss unscathed, but it does pick up a bit in 21-25. Still, if you can beat Hyperion, it shouldn't pose a threat.
I managed to kill Hyperion without using any bombs. I have the Frantic 3 impossible badge, but I am never, ever trying to do that thing without taking any damage.
The secret scene is easy to unlock if you pay any sort of attention to the maps, and it's worth the extra minute it takes to unlock it. Might be slightly spoiler-y if you haven't kept up with the entire mainline series though.
