With Decrease Special you can easily dump Iceland and Chaos Deserts Specials to zero for an easy win even without high mana.

You can also easily easily defeat CD with decrease special. At 20 20 use PW 10P At 30 30 you block At 40 40 PW 20P At 50 50 use paralyze P11 At 60 60 use Decrease Special P4 At 70 40 you take the hit and counter attack, you will lose 20 special but that's ok because you'll still have enough to use DS again. P9 thanks to CA At 80 50 you use DS again. Now on the next turn CD will be attacking with only 30 special. You get more poison counters from counterattacks and can repeat using decrease special to Chaos Deserts Special to 0 then 10 at the start of each turn.

Against Iceland at 60 60 you should have 20 poison counters on IL, use decrease special and IL Special will go down to 30 then 40 at next turn start. After his attack on this turn you should have Poison 18 thanks to counter attacks. At 70 50 you use decrease special again and now IL special on the next turn is 30, you'll get even more counters now, then then when IL special is 40 you use decrease special once again and now he's at 20 next turn and so on. If you use decrease special and counterattacks you can easily dump Icelands special to zero and never worry about getting hit by Freeze defend.

PlayerD Poison Water is indeed a strong clan. Something I notice about discussions on Poison Water is that nobody mentions the power of Decrease Special. Even without high mana you can easily defeat any Chaos Desert or Iceland mage using it. I'll post some details why.

I got the goblet on my first try using PunyMortals guide. I got rather lucky, I found a ring of fire plus 2 and best of all a ring of learning that let me reach level 17. The final area was the core and my fire resistance was high enough to only take 3 damage from any hits there.

Something else to consider is that Freeze Attack is useless against Poison Water since they will just use Poison Wave or DS on their attack turn. Even without decrease special, at special 60, Poison Water will have 30 poison on the Iceland mage. I think Poison Water can reach poison death before the Iceland Mage can reach Frozen death. Iceland with a special ring can completely stun lock all other clans by spamming freeze defend and freeze attack without losing any special, but not against Poison Water. One of Poison Water's greatest strengths is that it doesn't have to attack.

Zalomant, I don't think Poison Water is Irrelevant. With Paralyze, Poison Wave or Decrease Special Poison Water can defeat any clan if they have extremely high mana and some health. Due to decrease, special Poison Water may be the only clan able to defeat an Iceland Mage with a special ring. If you freeze defend at 60 special, you'll go down to 45, then Poison Water can knock your special down to 15, than 30 after the turn. You'll be missing 5 additional bolts and lack enough special for Regenerate, meaning Poison Water can get enough poison on you to decrease your special again.

Zalomat, I agree with you that an Iceland Mage with a special ring is possibly the most powerful of all. I disagree that Chaos Desert is the best clan though, it will always lose to at least a well-played Great Sea or Poison Water Mage. CD's remove effects are good against other clans but against Poison Water it just speeds up their health drain.

Darkwood is indeed an extremely powerful clan. The key is trade life while not having high health yourself. Don't move health above 600 or 610, but have around that much to be able to absorb a big hit from a clan like Burning Hill. Get additional attack power as high magic for 60S and combine for 80s not the other way around. During a fight, increase your special as fast as you can and then use trade life as soon as you can. At 100S use Silence, at 70s you will deal an addition 50 damage with your curse bolts because you got attack power for 60 as well as fully cursing the enemy. Then, you follow it up with a power boosted combined attack against a fully cursed enemy! If your life during the trade life was lower than the damage you'll do from this, you win! The enemies health level is completely irrelevant to a well played Dark Wood mage.

You'd be paying 20 life to remove a 10 damage per turn effect that will immediately return. You're using this on your attack turn, which means another poison wave will follow immediately. Remove effects is likely useful at much higher levels of poison effect doing much more damage each turn or getting close to poison death. But at poison 10, using remove effects may actually speed up your life drain rather than protecting it. I think the Poison Water mage wins with enough mana.

Regardless of who goes first, PW can get 10 poison effects on the CD mage before they reach 40S. The PW mage will then have to constantly alternate between PW and paralyze, dealing 10 damage followed by 1 damage. It will, of course, take the PW mage significantly more mana to finish draining the health at this initial low damage. However, while chaos deserts remove effect is excellent against other clan bolt effects, especially freeze bolts, against PW it isn't really helpful because you have to pay life for it.
