Given that reviews in 2011 suggested that some kinks needed to be ironed out, I can only assume that the game was completely unplayable. Given that the cheap and nasty interface was barely comprehensible I can't really comment on the gameplay; it might be quite rich. There was certainly a crapload of options. I did enjoy the fact that I could name my character 'Shittits'. A refreshing change from the namby-pamby filtered names of more up-to-date MMOs.
Do not bother.
I find this game either so easy as to be boring, or impossibly hard. A few moments of fiendish difficulty that are also fun. I think the balance is a bit off, perhaps.
The original game I loved. This version I'm not so keen on. The gameplay has become too faffy for my tastes, and I'm not sure the new features really add that much.
I gotta say I absolutely love this game. The simplicity of the interface, and the solid gameplay. It really reminds me of the experience of playing original C&C, it has the same intense resource management aspect. Very cool.
I think this is the first game that I've really engaged with in a long time. Also, possibly, the first time I've ever really considered the Categorical Imperatives without my head exploding. 5/5, thanks!
I find the fact that armor doesn't save against bombard kinda annoying, as it's a departure from the games fairly pleasing logical layout of skill effects.
Firstly, how the hell do you ambush a castle?
Secondly, since when did sacrificing mean killing your enemy's units?
This comment basically goes to show that hard mode is really really annoying.
