A lot of fun, if far too easy. I'd greatly prefer to see an achievement 'beat every level on the hardest difficulty without beating any level more than twice' than 'play every level 3 times.
Here are some tips for beginning players. Rate this comment up so they will be able to find it! This is the best multiplayer game on Kong, but it’ll take some getting used to. If you've played Magic: no, there is no blocking in this game (but there are shields). Yes, 100 lives is a lot (but abilities scale). Getting upgraded cards is expensive. Don't worry about it at first. It makes getting a killer deck very hard and very rewarding. Try focusing on a single good concept for a deck, and once you can, only get the upgraded cards that go with that concept. Don't be afraid to sell the upgraded cards that you win if they don't go with your deck concept (unless they are upgraded rare cards: only sell those if you are really sure you will never start a deck that might use them). Don't underestimate random pillars/towers. Having every type of quanta will protect you from quanta draining attacks, and you get to mix and match the best cards in the game.
Managing your hp is the point of the game early on. When you run out, you need to use escape wings. You will begin the game again, but you will be more powerful (and thus get further on your second try). This is a fine mechanic if you think about it, so give it a chance before balking at it. Too bad the game gets easier as you go. Nevertheless, very well done!
when providing a choice between upgrades, it would be really helpful if I could see not just which tree it's in, but also how many point in that tree you need to activate the upgrade. If I focus on one tree, I might want the low upgrades for the other trees for flexibility, but not the advanced ones. Vote up if you think this should be added!
For those of you wo are bothered by the lack of a forward marker on your cell: pick good colours in the editor! If you have a decent contrast between the two colours of your cell, you'll see it has 2 'eyes' up front. Vote up if you think this is helpful!
Very well caried out. The hero/xp mechanic is a really nice addon. A tip: item management needs a lot of work. For instance, adding a sort button to the item list: sort by value, sort by: change element. Sort by: spellpower bonus or specialism bonus etc.
Also: add a 'favorite items for this hero' option. I find I'm switching between the same 5 items or so, would be very useful.
Vote up if you'd like these tips to be added into the game! =)
If you want to play with decent players, look for rooms with many people with a star next to their name. These people have made an account, and they usually like to play the game as intended. Also, I find that the time of day at which you play has a big effect on the number of immature players (must relate to US school times?)
This game could do with 1) a repair all option 2) the ability to expand forward (at a cost) 3) troops gaining xp over time OR upgrades for other than defense 4) badges!
I find the button configuration quite unfortunate for a browser game. I do not want to make these awkward finger motions to dash. They inevitably lead to pressing alt of the windows key (the latter of which I've removed from the keyboard).
It would be very nice if the map actually did anything. Controlling lands and/or the number of contact points with the enemy should have an impact on the game.
The scoring system is a bit off. I think a measure of preventing casualties should be included to determine the amount of xp and money gained. Now, clear wins pay less.
