Welp, the cave story/t.w.e.w.y. references probably help me avoid a rage quit in the secret HELLZONE. aside from that, I actually think not being able to use a lvl select gave me much needed practice for the alternate ending.
*<* i WAS going to complain about the linearity of the counterpoints and progression, but after getting past the first few, i am...legitimately entertained and, actually thinking about fallacies. good job.
ok, usually i finish a game before reviewing... so its only now that i'm mentioning the graphical bug that happens when you try to put on the helmet while wearing the... eggbeater...spot thing... while it FUNCTIONS properly, there isn't any visual showing that you're wearing the hat, making it extremely fustrating to progress, since only a trial& err would reveal it, yet the player has no reason to aimlessly throw around combinations that shouldn't work at all based on what they can see, and will likely un-equip the hat in an attempt to double check that it can't be worn with the eggbeater. i certainly did.it would have been a fun game otherwise v_v
wow. that was... unusual. good, though. a short puzzler based around a story of nagging stress, but without the story i don't think the puzzles would be worth solving; its actually the challenge to see if you can pull off the impossible that drives the story since... i'm pretty sure that[*spoiler alert*] several people had to die. some more then others >_>. as a final note, the ending implies that there's a fair chance that, regardless of how things go, corpses are kinda just piled up in the universe they came from, but no one care's cause its not the their problem any more.also christina is legally insane, since aside from killing 2 guards, she is also trying to kill a past self and take it's place.
impressive. it never explained why her dreams are haunted by Death incarnated, but it probably has nothing to do with the fact that she ALSO dreams of stabbing as many forest animals as possible before some one can catch her.
while i think its fair that you can't see ghosts on your radar or sense them until they're pretty much visible, i DO think it would be good to see how close you are to their respawn point/dangerzone/center of the maze, since they appear to respawn fast enough to kill 7/4 with a single pellet, but isn't beneficial to the player if he is right out side the spawn point when the pellet wears off
this game may feature the worst possible air traffic control team in the history of air traffic control teams. that aside, there are so many alien space crafts in orbit that earth may be too enslaved to care i've reached mars.
if this isn't the sorriest pack of soldiers i've ever seen- can't take a bullet, AND need their hand held before working up the confidence to open fire...srsly, look at me in my t-shirt, running in between bullets, reloading my pistol and looting bodies so fast its like dimes just fly into my pocket ,while ammo jumps into my gun. come on maggots, pick up the slack.
nostalgia on overload- my only quip is a few levels such as RAT and Solid suffer from the random spawning- for RAT, at least 3 times in succession i've run into a death block that spawns just in front of the seed that create them. SOLID has the same potential an avoidable doom because simply put, seeds don't have to spawn any distance away from each other, so in my experience... they don't. still love this though, its my new fav on Kongregate.
while i liked the game, most of the difficulty comes from the lack of control; it starts getting frustrating when you repeatedly lose, and it's never directly your fault because you only have indirect control- the final stage sums up every instance of this well, but the only real game ruiners is 1) a flare being used when it's unessasary or going to cause infection/human torch 2) bullets being aimed at normal zombies instead of a boss, and ammo being wasted during his charge.aside from that, i learned all mail from Beelzebub should be regarded as spam.
As you've learned, flares can be dangerous to the user! My tactic is to always separate flare holders from the rest so I only risk one guy if the whole room goes up and I can't get out in time. On the boss levels, it's normally best to kill all the normal guys before you wake the boss - that way you don't get eaten while you dodge. Thanks for the detailed comment and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!
so it would seem missiles are a very effective defense against even time-space distorting creatures... I think a good badge would be most missiles dodged without using focus.my best would be zero.
as fun as it was to try to run in between rain drops while dodging zombies, if this little arcade throwback actually cost quarters, i wouldn't play it because of how unpredictably the rain falls when you have to travel upwards. however, since it's free and wouldn't be a challenge without the rain, i "Really liked it". (that means 4/5 stars.)
consider me impressed. normally i don't care about graphics as a good game will be good regardless; however, these impressed me. i can't tell if they're realistic paintings, photos with a painted tint, or an excellent combination of photography and brushwork. also, thanks for not making this vampire sparkle.
i found it first on armor games and played it there. as much as i like the mechanics, story and level design, i don't have the stomach to play the game twice.
as much as i like the concept and monkey oriented story, constantly being crushed instead of being pushed aside when you step too far into a newly made narrow passage or an object being warped bends into you, makes the game more of a test of patience then puzzle solving skills. since that's the main gameplay element, it's the equivalent of shooting yourself in the leg in a shooter game because you reloaded your weapon improperly. it's not a challenge, it's an annoyance.
