Figured out the trick to the boss riding the tusked boar. But the amount of damage you do is so ridiculously small, I don't have the patience to sit here all day trying desperately not to get killed while doing the first attack so I can land a few more for such a measly amount of damage.
Make the damage from the initial attack more significant, cuz right now it looks like it'll take something like 12 passes and with how much damage that boar does and dodging being a huge pain, that's pretty ridiculous IMO.
I timed it - I'm moving literally 1 square every 2 seconds. I am tabbing away while I'm WAITING for him to cross a room. Thankfully my HP regen is such that I don't have to worry about what could happen to him.
1-star rating until this is fixed. :(
Over time my character slows down to the point where he's moving something like 10% of regular speed. Every time I start up a new level it seems to reset, but it is a huge pain in the ass and I don't know why this is happening. Moreover, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the game other than to piss me off for how long each level takes. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
@ballesta25 If you're getting a 17% chance of the opponent _not_ being able to kill you on the first turn in challenge 15 then apparently you need to start a new game from the beginning and do much better each game. Your performance in each round impacts how quickly you level. Do more damage, take less damage, do it all in a low amount of time, and you will level really well. Perform horribly and your odds of being defeated against later opponents goes up. I don't know if it approaches 83% by round 15, but I leveled fairly evenly with the opponent and had no problems come round 15.
So much hate! Only reason I can see people have so much trouble with the game is not fully understanding the game mechanics? I definitely didn't fully understand it myself for a while, but now I aim to drive my opponent insane as quickly as possible and then abuse that vulnerability as best as I can while keeping my own sanity up, going full force with arcane power and elder sign defense, and dropping some taint on my enemy. It's not EASY to play, but it feels to me like a fair challenge.
I got a full 4 stars worth of wanted on account of police rear-ending me into people, killing them. And it just escalates further so that I'm rear-ended into more people more often killing more people and getting wanted more often. Seems kind of...imbalanced to make the player character responsible for the actions of the cops, but I guess it would be hard to create a system that measured whether it was the cop's fault or if the player could have avoided it and such.
I was just thinking attach a 1 second timer to each bump from a cop during which killing doesn't issue warrants (hoping the cops back off when they're the ones doing the killing seems like a bridge too far though).
Biggest recommendations for this game is to change the music (sorry, it was really unpleasant) and to do something about the squirrel's mobility. :-\ This game has decent potential, but isn't fully realizing that yet.
This is a most excellent game! The artwork is good and provides an excellent atmosphere. The theme is great and one which I find most appealing. The game provides a reasonable enough challenge at the higher levels. Gameplay and mechanics aside, I'd say this game has the makings of being a great game!
Gameplay and mechanics are *deceptively* complex - at first glance this game looks to be very simple and not worth playing for long, but the skills form such intricacies at later levels that you really have to strike a balance to make a character survive. Bravo! 5/5
Please make more of these!!! ;)
Great concept but this game is EXTREMELY tough on the wrist/lower hand. For this reason alone this game doesn't score a lot of points with me. Love the concept though.
Reviving causes the battle timer to stop. Rather annoying when it costs you a bunch of money to buy one, and then using it means you have to start all over, AND THEN the game still recognizes that you used the item so you no longer have it. Love the game, but the revive effect REALLY need some debugging.
I retract my former statement, enemies of all sorts have a tendency to spawn on top of me. Enemy spawns do WAY TOO MUCH DAMAGE if you just HAPPEN to get unlucky. Some levels are borderline unplayable (on hard and insane) ONLY on account of enemy spawn location, even with loads of armor (especially when it's a boss).
I get that the higher difficulties are named "hard" and "insane" for a reason, but the challenge level is already quite high without the 5% chance per enemy spawn of "oh, an enemy spawned on you with full health? you lose!"
Either scale back the damage on an enemy's coincidental spawning on the snake, make it so they don't spawn right on you, or give us a half a second to get away with no damage. Especially the effect on the timer. I might just be happy if the timer is unaffected by damage done from the enemy spawning on the snake, but scaling back the damage from spawn would have a similar effect I feel.
The 2nd boss seems to spawn on top of me a lot, which makes things VERY frustrating, especially when the boss spawns on top of where you spawn at the very beginning. Boss spawning on you does a LOT of damage and you can't do anything about that. AT LEAST do something so that the boss's first spawn point cannot be on top of you, please!
I've gotten stuck on some levels, but then I tried different weapons and found out it was easier with certain weapons. The baby zombies gave me a real fight for a while but then I figured out to switch to the Ice Thrower and they were a cinch. The flame thrower makes everything easier, but it was still fun for the couple levels you got it for at the end.
