Bug! If a Horde is on a subway station the same time you fortify the other end, then choose to fortify the station the Horde is on, *Poof!* no more Horde!

Cayh, they're meant to, that's the point. They go through a bunch of enemies, damaging them. That's the entire reason WHY people use bowguns.
And yes, Ragnarok is extremely survivable, just make sure you've got a decent way of doing lots of AoE damage, Bowguns/Gravity guns excel at this. Or if you're a pansy, hit the sword juuust before the day ends so the dragons don't get a chance to kill the shit out of you.

Awesome game, highly reminiscent of the Princess Maker series, and the graphics are from Everquest (Which is an awesome game too!)

Forgot to mention: Start off with 4 Physical Strength, 8 Agility, 8 Accuracy, and 5 Intelligence. You'll hardly be able to take any hits, and you're repair skills are going to leave a bit to be desired, but by god, you're one hell of a shot! Plus, you'll get 12AP, enough for three shots a round.
For everyone who's not sure how to start this game:
Get your stuff from the Sheriff
Buy a "Small Wooden Cart"
Sell your bottles at the shop, and buy a "Water Jerry Can"
Buy 1 food, fill up with 13L of water, and buy 37 forage
Buy as much leather as you can, then head to Caganel
Restock on everything, the next trip is longer, so buy more of everything (except forage, you've got enough for the round trip)
Buy as many shoes as you can, then head to Drushlak
Sell shoes, Restock, Buy Clothes, then its back to Poca Cosa
