I love how minimalistic it is, albeit flawlessly executed.
A simple mechanic, perfectly matched with a plot.
The only thing I would complain would be the school layout. If you could manage to make it a bit more realistic, this game would be simply perfect.
Congratulations on your work here!
Great game, just had two comments:
-The shield is very overpowered, blocking ANY hits made some of the last boss attacks seem just silly (the spinning shooting in all directions, the ZZZ and the "Armored Armadillo" attacks would be countered by simply pressign down).
-The shield, although overpowered, is terribly buggy. I can't use it when i'm shooting, I can't use it while moving, I can't use while jumping, I can't use after taking a hit, I can't use it after I just fell, etc... Sometimes it seemed that I had to be perfectly still for 3 seconds in order to have an appointment with mr. Down Key, and maybe, MAYBE, he would grant my wish of shielding.
"Moon Snail is too powerful for you right now!"
Well, all the other bosses were pretty easy, I guess I'll give a try.
*fights first part*
Well, this is pretty easy, I just have to time my shield well.
*fights second part (red)*
Hmm, he is pretty damaging, but is almost down!
*fights third part (giga)*
Wow, this sure is hard, but I still have my shield and I'm able to block most of his attacks
*fights fourth part (red giga)*
*smashes keyboard and punch self in the face*
Just a comment on spells, some of them felt just too unbalanced.
Using a combination of Reaper, Skeletons, Earthquake, Worm and (mostly) Confusion, I managed to get 30 minutes in survival, as the workers got stuck on lvl 3, and whenever earthquake CD got back up, I would use it to hinder their progress, creating a stalemate at less than 50% of progress on floor 3. (then I gave up and decided to quit, which, unsurprisingly, didn't save the high-score for me)
Confusion is just too strong, not only is does greatly slows every enemy, it also makes you wish for brutes and offensive enemies to spawn, so they can beat the crap out of new workers, while your skeletons doesnt have to do shit.
Not only it last for a long time, it targets the entire screen, slows too much and the "charm" aspect is too powerfull. It also has a very low CD and only costs 3 mana?
The gameplay was quite nice, but you could have used your elements more in order to create more complex levels. Other than that, I loved the art design and especially the music.
The "Budget level" and "Folley" were the icing of the cake, great job!
