Because this game is so incompetently coded, the impossible badge is literally impossible if you have a fast computer. I can't get less than 10 seconds on level 40 unless I open 30 windows of momentum missile madness at once; with my PC slowed down I can get "4 seconds" with ease.
It took me a while to figure out why I had to shave 180 seconds off of my time in order to get the badge, but now I know.
There's a bug that currently makes this game very, very easy if you know the basics:
Air Superiority, which is supposed to last for 60 seconds, instead lasts *until you use artillery or air support.* What's more, air superiority doesn't just stop enemy air assaults, it also stops *enemy artillery.*
That means you can just call Air Superiority once and never have to deal with artillery ever again. You'll still get the paratrooper blitz and the artillery blitz (which will probably pwn you), but you won't see any of the normal random artillery barrages.
Except for the annoying boss battles, the game is just too easy. There needs to be some penalty for typos, because I can reach at least 140 wpm if I don't have to worry about messing up and the game seems to top out at about 70. I was a 300000 points with 3/4 health left before I got terminally bored with it.
Yuck. The only reason any level past two is even possible is because the AI is completely brain-dead. At one point it outnumbered me 10:1 but it just sat there and waited for me to build up and take its cells one by one. As long as I didn't completely deplete any of my cells, it wouldn't attack. Honestly, the AI could utterly destroy the player within ten seconds of starting any level and there would be nothing you could do about it--that shouldn't be the case. That the AI just lets you win, no matter how hard that may be, really destroys any sense of accomplishment.
The trick is to build up as much horizontal speed as possible (about 18-20 "nice entries" in a row) in the first minute and tailslide+jump out of the water at the shallowest angle you can. Every time you starslide, your tail gets stronger, letting you jump even higher out of a tailslide/starslide. So starslide+jump 5-6 times and then do another tailslide+jump out of the water. Hit as many starslide+jumps as you can going up, and you'll get to the restaurant. It's mostly luck at that point, though.
Opening 10 tabs of Momentum Missile Madness to get the framerate below 25 helps a lot too... it's basically impossible at 30 fps, since you only have .2 seconds to avoid the ocean floor upon hitting the water coming back from Neptune.
