The trick is to turn your brain off while playing. If you manage to boil yourself down to immediately reacting to anything you see, it gets fairly easy - this, plus "learning" the patterns helps. Got 66:47 after 20mins of playing :)
Quite frantic :) The slight delay in the controls (or was it an illusion?) felt a bit "spongy"; maybe sharpening the movement up a bit could help. Also, while I see why you would chose strong contrasts for the different movement directions of enemy pixels, the red/blue setting can start to hurt your eyes after some minutes; you might find a better and still readable alternative. other than that, quite entertaining!
Aww, I've been planning out a puzzler/jump'n'run "dodge the tetris blocks" kind of thing for quite a few months, and there you are, delivering the best experience such a hybrid would possibly be capable of. Great work!
Nice game. One flaw is that dirt piles, as has been mentioned, slow you down for free - this is quite a game-breaking mechanic for classic mode. As for the RPG mode, it's over far too quickly, and the skills are gained within two minutes. Leveling up is a cool and rewarding mechanic, but you should be able to use those gathered skills for some sort of highscore mode (like classic, but with the skills). I had all but two skills by the time of first finishing story mode, and there just wasn't any motivation to unlock more skills - what should I use them for, besides beating story mode again?
Why Fujitsu? Fujitsu (including the logo used in this game) is an IT solutions company. What's the point of this choice of theme? Providing free advertising? Or did you just decide to create a game based on a company you like? Anyways, as for the gameplay, it's a rather basic and generic TD, but it's quite entertaining for some unknown reason. 4/5.
@Micki Pwn: Get rid of 2 of your guns and replace them by homing missile launchers. Be sure to line your cannons up in a horizontal line, using all the space you are given. With that setup (1 Agility, 1 Shock, 2 Missile, 8 Cannons), winning should be easy. If not - try upgrading something!
Awesome game. I think you could add more depth by adding a skilling system (for faster fire rate, explosive shots or 3 player mode, for example), achievements (killed 5 enemies, killed 10 enemies, killed an enemy in 1 shot etc) and stuff like that. Great game, deserves badges and a card!
Seriously now... You know who I am, don't you :) --> Latte des Todes!
Pretty nice game. I think you could add more depth by adding some sort of upgrade system though.
Honestly now, the best and most original meta-game since "Achievement Unlocked". I hope to see some "Loot farming"-Metagame soon, could be quite interesting.
There have been questions about how to beat the last boss, and most answered that minigun and grenades would do the job. Minigun alone will be enough though; just upgrade it and don't let the heat gauge pass the 50% mark. It fires at full speed and cools down way faster if you just always keep it below 50%. Using this trick, the boss should be down before it reaches 3/4 of the battlefield.
Taking the recipe of amorphous+ - a wide range of different enemies, an "easy to learn, hard to master"-gameplay and tons of achievements + some unlockables - was a good idea. The awards feel a bit artificial though, somehow reminds me of the game "Achievement Unlocked!". I got about 15 badges just for learning the controls. Still, good game. I'll play it again as soon as it gets some kong badges.
Well done - the skills are quite balanced, the graphics are great and the level of difficulty.. well, that's what I want to talk about. On one hand, it's a challenging game if you don't know how to combine effects and how to work efficiently. On the other hand, it gets boring very quickly if you just know how to win. I think you should balance that; newbies should have a better chance to dive in, so make at least the first few levels a bit easier - not by shrinking the number of waves, but by getting rid of that kinda steep learning/difficulty curve. Give newbs a few enjoyable levels, and give pros a few levels where very certain strategies are needed to progress. 5/5 though, cause it's a really nice TD game, definitely one amongst the better ones out there.
Quite a nice concept, but the few glitches which have been mentioned before are just a bit too annoying for being able to really enjoy the gameplay.
On a quick note, the music gets annoying after a short amount of time. Various decent backgrounds and themed textures would be a nice addition. Gave it a 2/5 for now, might go up to 4 or 5 if I see an improved version.
The bug with the invincible jeeps is really, really, really annoying and frustrating, especially if you don't actually have enough engineers to compensate the damage taken by the indestructojeep...
Nice idea on making own tutorials. I checked it out, but even if I have never worked with flash before, I'm fluid in MSL and a few other not-so-famous languages, so I think I'll need some other tutorial or error-and-trial :)
time consuming? took me 20 minutes to get the medium badge. I think it's entertaining and has got a good length. You don't have to fully upgrade everything; Cannon+3, Engine+3, Shield+2, TripleShot, Additional Cannons are absolutely enough to beat the crap out of that red thing.
enemy appearance seems too random, should be based on level progress. Sometimes I make it through a hard level, just having to kill some archers, and sometimes I start an easy level and encounter 5 or more units bashing me at the same time. No chance, they kick me dead in no time. Other than that, quite a cool game. 4/5
Good game, requires quite some skill, and a great variety of awards + lovely descriptions for every single element of the game, be it enemies, awards, rewards or anything else. 5/5
CPU seems to think pretty much, takes half a day to take a turn sometimes... But hey, despite this little issue, it's a great game. fluid and fast-paced, but nonetheless strategic gameplay with good unit balance, cool graphics and many great improvements compared to its commercial brother on Advance and NDS. 5/5
