Everyone was complaining about level 12 so I just had to see it for myself instead of taking the badge and leaving. Oh boy, that was hard. But eventually I realized that there is a strategy to it. It's not guaranteed, not by a long shot, but if you wait until you have balls heading from all 4 corners into the middle at the same time before clicking in the middle somewhere, you have a much better chance. Despite its randomness, you do have some control over the game. Thank you 2007 for making me like 2020 more.
I appreciate that the note from earlier in the game clues you in to the location of the last fuel item. I had totally forgotten about it, until I realized that I had items mentioned in all the other notes. It sure as heck beat my initial strategy of randomly clicking everywhere on the map!
Why isn't hard? Usually we don't get hard badges on games like this, where looking at a single picture would allow you to blow through the puzzle easily. Still a fun game though!
Thieves are called out in the next round, in Kong chat, and in the leaderboards below the game. To give incentive to stealing, make it so that if two people steal they keep the money but get reset to T1. Well, except for on T10. And get rid of the "Recently stole" warning. Fun game as it is, though!
Hm, yes. I too should plagiarize (with 6 words slapped in front) a comment about how to win and reach the "Best" section because it's 2019 and the original comment merely appeared in 2014. Ah, the rating system. I do love you so.
Accidentally broke the mission by teleporting to Graywoods and walking left back into Sunwell, where the town was back to normal. Whoops.
Fortunately you can just teleport to Sunwell to fix it. Fun game.
Even though I sometimes feel that multiple solutions are possible, so far I've always noticed some mistake that I've made that makes it invalid. If you found something that seems like a solution which isn't accepted then you should double check it. If it still looks right take a screen shot and show it so it can be fixed.
I would agree with Rease that necromancer is the way to go for the hard badge, but I think it's a mistake to not leave yourself anything for life spike or cannibalize. Multiple life spikes can essentially turn you immortal and cannibalize can keep it going.
Also: strafe attack, picked up from the athletics book. Also, talents see diminishing returns as you upgrade them, so don't go all in on a couple talents. For stats: Just go for focus.
@bigfatrasta Had the same problem, took me a few deaths to start respecting infectious disease properly. Use skeletons as a vanguard to the infected at arms length, make sure none of the things you're infecting are fast/teleport, and run like heck.
I also managed to survive getting infected by lifespiking everything in sight and munching multiple foods (Disease does disappear after a number of turns)
Just because you're not up for the challenge doesn't mean no one should be. I'm glad they gave me something to work for with this hard badge. Should be interesting.
@disrighthereismy You might consider trying to read the tutorial. For me, I find they often help explain how mechanics work in most games, and this game is no exception. Or you could close your eyes, click through it as fast as you can, fail to understand even the self-evident mechanics, complain in the comments and then rate it 1/5. Whichever makes you happier.
Can y'all stop adding the "Virus" and "Horror" tags to games like these? We get it, the game's an idle game with microtransactions. You don't have to subvert the tagging system to express how absolutely OUTRAGEOUS kongregate's badges have become. Just leave an angry comment and rate it 1 star, you know?
I also struggled with insane difficulty on Boss 3 (spider), but eventually won. My setup was 2 heavy armor shirts, 4 Cleaner Wrist 2000s, 2 skull aim pros, 3 boomerangs, rabbit egg suit, and 2 chocolate. But I think what really mattered was only killing the flies after the spider started moving towards them. This wasted his time, and gave me precious no-bullets-flying-at-me seconds to kill him with.
Looks like it DOESN'T work when it's in the background or when you can't see it. Or at least, the time doesn't track properly, or something. I played a different (fullscreen) game at 8:30 real time with the time for the current run at 26:6:50. It's now 10:00 real time and the timer is at 26:25:11. I do believe the last couple minutes came during my typing this.
Good to know.
It would be awesome if the income per pixel scaled appropriately with the abstract art. Each piece seems to have the same income but require more die. I'd also love it if we could see the completed abstract paintings in the gallery, or perhaps a gallery of their own. Or just a count of how many we complete each run.
Thanks for pointing it out. I'll fix it soon!
