Jan 8, 2017 7:54am My main issues with the game was simple lack of friendly UI… I made an axe.. what for? I made a hammer.. what for? I made a furnace… what for? Where do I use the furnace? Where do I use the other tools? The only tool that had a use, so far as I could tell was the pickaxe. I made a furnace… what for? Where do I use the furnace? Where do I use the other tools? The only tool that had a use, so far as I could tell was the pickaxe. Scientists don’t seem to have a use, are they meant to research for you? The way the workers is assigned is confusing and redundant. Overall its all down to badly designed UI and things seemingly being put into the game for no reason that is easily figured out. How you fix all this? I wish I knew, a redesign of the UI from the ground up would be a good start. Remember the KISS principle – “Keep it simple, stupid” as a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore simplicity should be a key goal in design and unnecessary complexity should be avoided. show less

I would never think to click and hold to access features and I play a lot of games. But again, nowhere does it actually state “hey, do this and this happens” Overly complex for no reason. show less

There also needs to be something taking you away from the language screen :P, its a bit confusing 5. tips, if you havent playd factorio DO SO NAO!, get inspired :) otherwise a great initiative :D, I am amused show less

What I’m saying is that when you reach a new tier of technology and it removes the lower tech items from the production list, any workers and tools that were on those lower are not returned, and continue to produce the lower tier item, and cost their salary. show less

Jan 4, 2017 2:22pm Dude Heavy Industries is a great game! It took me a while to figure out the functions of the buttons, but it’s a real gem in the idle category! Props to ya!

Hi there, it’s sweet to hear that you liked it. But looks like I made a mistake and added “Idle” tag to it, as in the most cases you need to take care what is going on in the game. |
