Another great game by Flipline. Not super different from the first, but the detail in this game is what makes it special. From the graphic quality to uniqueness of the weapons to the interactive backgrounds (like the moving water) it seems like everything is done to perfection in this game. Not just another time waster, this game is just as fun and challenging as any platform game on a console.
Great game. I really like the evolution of this series from the first to now. You've really made great progress in making it better each time, which more developers should do with their games instead of making just a level pack and calling it a new game.
This isn't even really a game, its more of a big time waster. You don't even control the penguins. The only user input in the game is pushing a few buttons at the bottom of the screen during a monotonous simulation while swirling your mouse around to pick up colored balls. Just seems like a blatant attempt to throw together something quickly with penguins and turtles to try and make a quick buck. I'm still trying to figure out why this has 4 badges. I guess there must have to be some reward for watching the same thing over and over again.
I don't think its very fair to give this game an impossible badge. Its very luck based depending on the routes the guards take. If there was a clear route you could take to do each map under 30 seconds I'd say that the badge was acceptable. But not the way it currently stands with the random nature of the guards.
This isn't a bad game, but I really don't see why each 3 levels are individual games and get badges each time. Seems more like a scam to get more money.
Your spell cooldown should revert when you restore a save game. Instead it stays on the same timer as when you used the spell in your previous game. Also I'd like to see a shop to reset your stats in town, might be a good way to use all that extra gold.
While I was a big fan of the first two in this series, it doesn't really seem like this game has any improvements over the last one. Gemcraft 0 had the addition of traps and shrines, but what has really changed in this version? Being able to build a wall isn't worthy of a sequel. Even the skills are the same.
I liked this game on the Normal setting, but at the Harder and Nightmare settings its almost too difficult to get started due to all the luck involved. I find myself restarting numerous times in a row to get a starting area near a lot of farms and a school. If you don't start near a group of farms then it seems that you're doomed from the start with starvation. Then you don't have enough troops to defend.
