I can't help but wish that this sequel had more gameplay innovations and fewer interface innovations. For one thing, the old interface worked fine and was easier to understand than this one. For another, aside from the campaign I see little reason to play this game in place of the original, as the few card changes don't do much for the overall feel imho.
This game has a number of severe bugs. First, the card in the bottom right of your deck will never actually appear in your hand. Secondly, the game crashed while I was playing it, then told me I'd won and should submit my score. It did this in the middle of an early battle. Also, the instructions could do a better job of explaining what energy is actually used for, and I'd appreciate more cards instead of just stronger and weaker versions of the same few base cards.
@Massu: For lvl 14 I hit the ninja boss with the AoE Temple first. At max upgrades it has a slow effect. The slow is just enough to make the ninja boss appear about a quarter of a second before he grabs a gem, so make sure you have a lot of upgraded orc dens to hit him and do the last 300ish damage before he can grab a gem. Alternately, I bet it is possible with a fear/freeze crypt since if either fear or freeze triggers it should give you enough time to kill him.
As others have said, I found this enjoyable but it got boring quickly. I quit playing after beating the second level when I realized that I had basically already seen everything the game had to offer.
I was a big fan of Talesworth Arena and wanted to like this game more, but the interface felt clunky and I was never a big fan of Rampart anyway. Still, not a bad game, just not as impressive as your earlier work. 3/5
There's a bug. Right after underground city sometimes it restarts for no apparent reason. Other times, it lets you keep going. Otherwise, nicely artistic but lacked a little in the game department, since there wasn't much to do but walk forward and click on the sparkly bits. No real puzzles or anything.
Found a bug: on the last level I killed the boss but didn't get the boss kill medal for that level. This could be related to the bug that says your kill % is less than 100%, even if you never let a single penguin through.
This is a fun little game, though I agree with your assessment that it gets a bit boring. If you have ideas for how to improve it I think they would be worth implementing since this is a fine base to build from. 3/5
A little buggy. You can teleport across the screen by moving the mouse outside the screen (thus pausing it), then clicking continue and quickly moving your mouse where you want your rider to appear. Also, raising will lowered my dodge for some reason. This could be a good game, but the programming needs to be a bit more solid.
This game is okay, but I don't understand the decision to make movement mouse-based in a brawler. Feels very clunky at first, and even after I got used to it I still felt like it was a poorly thought out control scheme. Anyway, improve the control scheme and you may have a good game, but for now 2/5.
By the end of the game I had 100 Combat Repute and could sweep the hardest dungeon with ease, but I still got completely unknown. I'm guessing that your score isn't actually based much on your combat skill, but rather on things like morality, faith, and refinement? That seems odd to me. I'd figure that since I'm training the next great hero, what I'd really want is someone with some dungeon clearing experience, not someone who was good at reciting poetry and said his prayers every night.
