I have more dollars than the number of stars in the known universe, yet my blacksmith says that it's not enough to make him stop wasting my gems. Hmmm.
I've started noting what I think might be done to make the menus less intrusive. Here's what I've been able to come up with so far.
-Resizeable windows, if possible. Their contents would ideally scale with them in size, to retain maximum functionality.
-Windows load on the farthest edges of the screen, rather than in the main area.
-Thinner window edges. Decrease to maybe 4 pixels.
-"Main" window: Shorten the width, since there's a lot of empty space on the right side. Remove the logo on the bottom, if you're willing to get rid of it.
-"World" window: Slightly shorter height of the buttons (maybe 4 pixels on top and bottom rather than what appears to be 11)
Fantastic game for when I'm bored or waiting for something. However, I think that the menus are too big. I'm often left with the dilemma of choosing between having a useful interface or missing nearly half the action because of the huge windows blocking my view.
I'm all ears for suggestions on making them more compact / less obstructing. The menu system is still by far more flexible than the old monstrosities, but I do agree that they still take quite a bit of space.
Those moving squares can ruin everything at >1000 speeds when they quickly move into your path. The splits and even the curves can be mastered, but when an obstacle is randomly shoved in front of you so abruptly that it's impossible to avoid, that leaves the player relying on a good deal of luck to get very far.
I love this game! The extreme pace keeps me hooked. It would be great if there was a survival mode with no worry about the sun going down, for those (like me) who just want to test their skills. Many times I've lost because I couldn't access a sun pickup in time.
You know a game is good when you've gotten all the achievements, played it from start to finish four times, and still come back for more. Kudos, ToffeeGames.
It really annoys me when someone walks in, stares at one of my workers' walls, then runs out cursing up a storm. What did I do that was so terrible? ._.
"Do you have a Brisk Beverage in stock?" I'm sorry, it seems you didn't notice my shelves are lined with a few hundred weapons and shields. NOT DRINKS! -_-
Multiple smashes and slices to the head and a ragdoll will still be standing. A single low-caliber bullet from a pistol can blow through and cut him to pieces. Wha-?
Good notes. Will do a menu pass for next patch.
